Bohinjska Bistrica (railway station) - Ajdovski gradec (along Sava)

Access to starting point:
From highway Ljubljana - Jesenice we go to the exit Lesce and follow the road towards Bled and ahead towards Bohinjska Bistrica. In Bohinjska Bistrica we turn on the road Ajdovska cesta and we follow it past the church to the railway station, where we park.

Path description:
From the railway station, we walk on the road Ajdovska cesta and before the bridge over the stream Belca we turn right downwards and then already after few meters left, in doing so we follow the asphalt road which after 100 meters passes into a macadam. With a view on Ajdovski gradec (580 meters) we continue under the railway bridge (which leads over the river Sava Bohinjka) to the end of the macadam road, where there stands a house (officially this entire branch of the macadam road belongs below the road Ajdovska cesta, which is because of this the longest street in Bohinjska Bistrica. Before the house we notice signs for waterfall Grmečica. We don't follow those signs and we continue past the house through a meadow, in doing so we have bank on our right (and soon hunting observatory). The path soon starts ascending and in additional minutes at first steeply ascends, then slightly flattens and again for a short time ascends until it reaches its highest point (grassy patch). Here on the left forest is ascending to the village Nemški Rovt, and right we notice the path for Ajdovski gradec, where we go. The path is ascending diagonally and then, when it turns left towards the summit, it becomes more gentle. We can return on direct marked path (in the direction of the view from the peak).
