Zadnja Trenta (Flori) - Veliki Ozebnik (via zavetišče pod Špičkom)

Access to starting point:
From Kranjska Gora over mountain pass Vršič we drive towards Bovec or vice versa, but only to 49th hairpin turn of road Ruska cesta (near the village Trenta). Here we go on a side road in the direction of source of river Soča. The road after a short ascent quickly brings us to the parking lot in front of the mountain hut Koča pri izviru Soče, and we continue left over a bridge and follow the road ahead to the parking lot at the end of the road (by parking lot we notice signposts for Bavški Grintavec, waterfalls of the stream Suhi potok and Jalovec).

Path description:
From the parking lot, we go on the right footpath in the direction of Jalovec and cottage Zavetišče pod Špičkom (left path leads on Bavški Grintavec). The path from which at the beginning a nice view opens up on the already mentioned Bavški Grintavec, quickly passes into a dense forest, where starts ascending steeply. Steep path, which almost all the time runs through the forest, after approximately an hour and a half of walking, it brings us to a crossing, where we continue on the left path in the direction of mountian hut Zavetišče pod Špičkom (right Jalovec, Mali kot and Jalovška škrbina, both paths are marked). The path ahead for some time slightly flattens, and then again starts ascending steeply, this time through occasionally thinner forest. Higher forest becomes even thinner and from the path nice views are starting to open up on surrounding peaks. Only a little further, we come on a less noticeable crossing, where marked, but poorly beaten path on Bavški Grintavec branches off to the left.
We continue straight in the direction of the cottage Zavetišče pod Špičkom on the path which passes into a lane of dwarf pines. Further, we are ascending for some time through dwarf pines, and then we join the path from the mountain pass Vršič.
We continue straight in the direction of the cottage Zavetišče pod Špičkom on the path which passes into karst terrain. The path from which beautiful views are opening up on peaks above Zgornje Posočje, higher brings us to a smaller crossing, where the path on Jalovec branches off to the right. We continue straight and on the path by which we notice some interesting inscriptions (verses) in few minutes we get to the cottage Zavetišče pod Špičkom.
From here we continue right a little downwards in the direction of Jalovec, past a rock with interesting caption to the entrance into a more demanding part of the path (to here we can also come on the path which doesn't ascend to the cottage and is approximately 15 minutes shorter). The path ahead ascends on at first relatively well-secured rocky rib, and then is steeply ascending on a wall of less known Veliki Ozebnik. The steepness then gradually decreases and the path turns a little to the right, where it crosses a steep and for slipping dangerous slopes below Veliki Ozebnik. The path on this part is poorly secured and very exposed to falling stones (a helmet is mandatory). The path ahead crosses also shorter exposed gully and then it brings us on softer grassy terrain.
And only few steps after the gully we leave the marked path and we continue the ascent left on pathless terrain. Further, we are ascending on the right side of the gully on very steep terrain (great risk of triggering stones). After 20 minutes of easy climbing, which doesn't exceed 1st grade we step to the summit of Veliki Ozebnik.
Orientation in the last part is difficult, and there is also great danger of falling stones.
