Globasnica / Globasnitz - Gora sv. Eme (Junska gora) / Hemmaberg

Access to starting point:
A) Over the border crossing Ljubelj we drive to Austria, and on the main road towards Celovec / Klagenfurt we drive to Podljubelje / Unterloibl, where we turn right in the direction of store Hofer. Lower, when we already get to Borovlje / Ferlach, we at first cross a railway track, and then we go at the crossroad near the store Spar left (store is located few 10 meters right from the crossroad). A little further, at the next crossroad with the priority road, at the stop sign we go right in the direction of Železna Kapla / Bad Eisenkappel. Borovlje soon ends, and then we go at the roundabout in the settlement Medborovnica / Unterferlach "straight" (second exit) in the direction of Železna Kapla. Next follows driving through several settlements, where we continue straight. When we get to the valley of river Bela / Vellach (the river which runs through Želena Kapla), we continue left in the direction of Dobrla vas / Eberndorf. Further, we drive through Miklavčevo / Miklauzhof and through Žitara vas / Sittersdorf, and after the mentioned settlement we leave the road towards Dobrla vas and we continue right towards Pliberk / Bleiburg. Next follows a relatively short ascent, and then the road flattens and leads us quite straight. After few kilometers, we join the road Dobrla vas - Pliberk, and we follow it to the right, and there we drive only to the turn-off of the road towards Globasnica / Globasnitz. We continue right and through Mala vas / Kleindorf we quickly get to Globasnica, where we turn left and we drive to a large marked parking lot, which is situated a little further from the church and the cemetery.
B) Over the border crossing Jezerski vrh we drive to Austria, where we drive through Železena Kapla / Bad Eisenkappel and also past the settlement Suha / Zauchen. Soon after the settlement Suha we turn right in the direction of Dobrla vas / Eberndorf. Further, we drive through Miklavčevo / Miklauzhof and through Žitara vas / Sittersdorf, and after the mentioned settlement we leave the road towards Dobrla vas and we continue right towards Pliberk / Bleiburg. Next follows a relatively short ascent, and then the road flattens and leads us quite straight. After few kilometers, we join the road Dobrla vas - Pliberk, and we follow it to the right, and there we drive only to the turn-off of the road towards Globasnica / Globasnitz. We continue right and through Mala vas / Kleindorf we quickly get to Globasnica, where we turn left and we drive to a large marked parking lot, which is situated a little further from the church and the cemetery.
C) Over the border crossing Holmec we drive to Austria, and then before Pliberk / Bleiberg we turn left across the railway track in the direction of the settlement Libuče / Loibach, and after the railway track we go immediately right. Further, we drive past the railway station, and in the settlement Konovece / Gonowetz, when we reach the main road Pliberk - Dobrla vas / Ebendorf, we continue left. At two roundabouts we follow the signs for Dobrla vas, after that in the settlement Šteben / St. Stefan we turn left on a side road, on which we drive to Globasnica / Globasnitz, where we park on a large parking lot near Spar.
D) Over the border crossing Vič we drive to Austria, in the settlement Labot / Lavamünd we turn left in the direction of the settlement Pliberk / Bleiburg. Further, we drive through Pliberk, on the main road towards Ebrla vas / Eberndorf, we drive to the settlement Šteben / St. Stefan, where we turn left on a side road, on which we drive to Globasnica / Globasnitz, where we park on a large parking lot near Spar.

Path description:
From the large parking lot near Spar, we go on the road which leads by the cemetery, and then runs also past the church, museum, castle Elberstein, and towards the west we walk to a marked crossroad, from which we continue straight on an ascending road in the direction of Gora svete Eme / Hemmaberg. After the crossroad Globasnica quickly ends, and at first a view still opens up a little and then the road passes into the forest. A little higher we get to a smaller crossroad, where a forest road branches off to the right, and between the both roads on a forested ridge continues the footpath, by which there are rare blazes, and the turn-off isn't marked. The path ahead leads us on and by the ridge, from which only occasionally a view opens up a little. Higher for some time a better view opens up towards the north, and then we already get to a crossing, where from the right side joins the path from Podjuna / Jaunstein, and because the path ahead on the ridge is closed, we continue left and on a cart track we descend to an asphalt road. We follow the road to the right, and then we quickly get to the settlement Slovenje / Slovenjach, where a nice view opens up on Karawanks. Few minutes we still continue on the asphalt road, and then we go sharply right, on a macadam road, on which we quickly ascend to the church of St. Ema on Junska gora.
