Hunting cottage Na Brežičih - Ojstrica (hunting path)

Access to starting point:
First, we drive to Luče, and then we continue driving into a valley of Podvolovjek (direction Kamnik and Kranjski Rak). At the road sign between 11 and 11.5 km, we will get to a smaller crossroad, where a road towards the farm Planinšek and mountain pastures Podvežak, Ravne and Vodole branches off to the right (turn-off is marked). We go on this at first still asphalt road which at the crossroads we follow in the direction of the mountain pasture Podvežak. On relatively long and in the upper part also a bad macadam road we will get to the parking lot below the mountain pasture Podvežak (by the parking lot are a gate and numerous signposts), and we continue driving good 500 meters, or to the spot, where the road ends. We park at an appropriate place by the end of the road (by the end of the road is situated a smaller hunting cottage).
From Kamnik we drive towards the mountain pass Črnivec, but only to a crossroad, where the road towards Kranjski Rak branches off sharply to the left (turn-off is marked and is located only 500 meters before the mentioned mountain pass). At the crossroad at Kranjski Rak we continue straight on the main road which starts descending into a valley of Podvolovjek. In the mentioned valley we will only 100 meters after bar Gams come to a crossroad, where the road towards the farm Planinšek and mountain pastures Podvežak, Ravne and Vodole branches off to the left (turn-off is marked). Further, we follow the description above.

Path description:
From the end of the road, we walk to the hunting cottage, and then we continue slightly left in the forest, where we quickly step on nice hunting path. The path after few steps of ascent brings us on an indistinct ridge, where the path turns to the right. We continue the ascent through the forest, on a footpath which continues on and by the ridge from which occasionally a nice view opens up on Velika planina, Konj and Rzenik. The path ahead passes into a lane of dwarf pines, where we soon come on a less noticeable crossing.
We continue a little towards the left (slightly right Lastovec) on the path which crosses old grazing barrier. Further path gradually starts descending and it quickly brings us on the western slopes of Lastovec, which was years ago marked by large fire. Western slopes, on which we continue are becoming increasingly steep and exposed to falling stones. That path ahead isn't easy we notice soon, when we have to cross exposed rocky ledge. The path ahead for a short time steeply ascends by the foot of steep walls, and then descends on a steep and exposed ledge. Next follows few minutes of a diagonal ascent by the foot of the walls, and then the path turns quite to the left, where from scree passes into a lane of dwarf pines. Only a short descent follows and we join the marked path from Podvolovjek.
We follow the marked path to the right, and after a short descent it brings us to the intermittent lake Stare Stale. Mentioned grassy plain path bypasses on the right side, and then continues by a pleasant well. Higher, we come at the marked crossing, where we continue left in the direction of Korošica (right lake Vodotočnik). The path ahead continues in a moderate steepness over panoramic and partly with dwarf pines vegetated slopes. Ahead from the left side joins the path from the saddle Presedljaj, and we continue straight on a diverse path, by which we soon notice signs for Lučki Dedec (turn off is only few minutes before the saddle Prag).
From Prag we continue straight and we continue on a wide footpath which starts descending diagonally towards green plain Korošica. After 10 minutes of descent, the path flattens and to the mountain hut Kocbekov dom we have only few steps of easy walking.
From the mountain hut Kocbekov dom we continue on a marked path in the direction of Ojstrica. The path already after few meters above the mountain hut goes in a lane of dwarf pines, where it gradually starts ascending steeper and steeper. After a good 20 minutes of ascent from the mountain hut Kocbekov dom the path flattens, and it passes on grassy slopes, which are soon replaced by stones. The path ahead crosses two successive gullies, and then it starts ascending steeper on the more and more panoramic slope. The path ahead leads us past two less noticeable crossings (in both cases we continue right in the direction of Ojstrica, left Planjava and Škarje) and it gradually starts turning more and more to the right. Higher, the path becomes even steeper and passes on quite crumbly slope. Further path for a short time flattens and through narrower passage brings us on the main ridge of Kamnik Savinja Alps. When we step on a ridge we continue right on a very steep path, which is further ascending on rugged rocks. This very steep path, by which there are some iron spikes for help, we follow all the way to the top of Ojstrica, and we reach it after approximately 15 minutes of additional walking (in the last part there is high risk of falling stones).
