Štore - Veliki vrh above Svetina (via Resevna, Resje and Svetina)

Access to starting point:
Štore is accessible ideally with the help of railway. On the road...you leave the highway in Celje and practically in the center of Celje go towards Štore or Šentjur. You park the car near the railway station Štore, where there is enough parking spots available and there is also the beginning of the marked mountain path.

Path description:
The beginning of the path is at the railway station in Štore. We go through Voglajna, where a signpost immediately point us to the left some ten altitude meters uphill. By the first structure left and we follow the mountain path through the forest directly above Voglajna. When we get out of the forest in the settlement Draga we follow the meadow path also directly above Voglajna and further on the asphalt road to the bridge over the river Voglajna or to the crossing named Opoka. Left over a bridge goes the path towards Dramlje, Konjiška gora..., right on a narrower forest road through Kompole and Šentjanž higher into hills above Štore and Celje, and we continue on the asphalt road straight and after few hundred metrers through the settlement Prožinska vas and then we three times turn slightly to the left. Of course the path is well marked with blazes, signs and it is easy to follow. Further, we pass on a cart track which after few hundred meters a little downwards brings us to a stream, which after few hundred metrers we cross it with the help of a smaller bridge, we continue by the water supply building, a smaller source of water, where we can quench the thirst and the wooden cross. Soon after the cross we go away from the water and we continue higher by the hayrack and through a yard of a homestead. Behind the homestead a little more sharply uphill partly on the road and further on a meadow path, where we soon cross the forest road. With the help of few meters of steel cables we continue higher on a pleasant forest path and soon from the left joins the path from Šentjur.
We continue on a little wider forest path below the only homestead in this part and further we go a little right through the forest, where after few hundred metrers we reach an asphalt road which leads higher. Further, we follow the asphalt road and after few hundred metrers from the left a steep path from Šentjur joins.
We continue on the asphalt grounding and with the help of wooden stairs we got to a meadow plain, where at NOB monument we turn right on a forest/transport road for mountain hut Planinski dom Resevna and we soon reach the mountain hut.
From the hut, we of course continue few steps higher to the modern lookout tower from which we continue immediately downwards on a marked mountain path. After the descent, in the forest part we descend to open terrain by the homesteads. Signs point us further in the direction of Svetina and we continue on the upper forest road straight, again in the arms of the forest. We follow a well-marked forest road and we continue by the monument of Celje unit, which is left from the path, a little right upwards on a narrower forest path, partly also a cart track. We soon reach a little bigger hunting observatory and after a short continuation there is also an indistinct peak Resje nad Štorami. Few meters below the summit there is again a monument of Celje unit at the homestead which is few ten meters below the summit. Here are also views in the direction towards the south and west.
From Resje we descend downwards on an asphalt path and at two homesteads we reach a wider asphalt road in Slemene. On the asphalt road, we continue right few hundred meters and at the marked crossing we continue again right in the forest on a forest mountain path. When we get out of the forest again to the asphalt grounding and through main part of the settlement Javornik slightly uphill. We continue through area named Mrzla Planina, along five or six homesteads we soon reach the road Štore - Svetina and we continue there approximately two hundred meters. At the marked crossing we turn from the asphalt road right upwards on a narrower forest path. We soon reach a nicely settled holiday cottage with a bee house and we continue into a little more dense forest higher and when we come on a meadow plain below an unfortunately abandoned homestead we reach the crossing Dobošek. We continue a little upwards, downwards leads the path into Kompole or Štore through Šentjanž and by the chapel we turn right upwards on the asphalt road. We soon reach hut Vrunčev dom a little right from the path and we continue further by the holiday cottages again on a forest mountain path. After a light shorter descent from the right joins a mountain path from Štore over Žlajfa and also the path through Bojanski graben. We continue few more hundred metov on a diverse forest path and we reach Ramanca or mountain hut Almin dom on Svetini, which is unfortunately closed (data about the closed mountain hut is from the beginning of the year 2014, and the hut is closed for a long time)
From the mountain hut Almin dom we descend downwards to the first crossing and we continue left in the direction of the settlement Svetina. After a shorter sightseeing of the settlement, we continue on the path of XIV division by the cemetery (a grave of great traveler Alma Karlin, immediately left by the entrance) on the road in the direction of Kanjuce. At the larger homestead right on the road, also along the fence for horses we get to a wooden cross which is right by the road and we turn sharply right upwards on an asphalt towards the only homestead, which we bypass on the right side and then we go immediately straight on a forest path - good hundred meters to the top. The peak is the highest point, marked with a border stone. On the top there are also four larger distinct trees - beech trees. From the wooden cross past the homestead to the top the path isn't marked, but the path is logical and easy to follow. The peak doesn't have much of a view.
The total length of the path from Štore is around 16 kilometers, 1180 positive altitude meters and 480 negative altitude meters.
