Stranice - Stolpnik (via hunting cottage Štepih)

Access to starting point:
A) Highway Ljubljana - Maribor we leave at exit Celje east, and then we follow the signs for Vojnik and forward Frankolovo and Slovenske Konjice. When the settlement Spodnje Stranice ends, still before the road sign, which marks the beginning of the settlement Stranice we turn left in the direction of primary school, kindergarten, cemetery, fire station, Dom krajanov... Next follows only shorter driving to the settled parking lot near Dom krajanov and the cemetery.
B) Highway Maribor - Ljubljana we leave at exit Slovenske Konjice, and then we follow the signs for Slovenske Konjice, and later Stranice and Vojnik. At the roundabout in Stranice we continue straight, and only a little after the road sign, which marks the end of the settlement Stranice we turn right in the direction of primary school, kindergarten, cemetery, fire station, Dom krajanov... Next follows only shorter driving to the settled parking lot near Dom krajanov and the cemetery.

Path description:
From the parking lot on we return a sidewalk to the main road, and then we continue left towards the roundabout. From the roundabout, or a little ahead we go on a road in the direction of the settlement Bukovlje. In gentle to moderate ascent we continue through the mentioned settlement, where by the path, we notice rare blazes. When the settlement ends, the path leads us through the forest, and when we get to the hamlet Čretvež we go slightly right. Only a little further, we get to a marked crossing, where we join the path with the starting point at the hundred hostages memorial park, and we continue straight in the direction of Stolpnik. On the asphalt road, we get to Kersnik homestead, behind which we go right on a side road. On the other side of the homestead signs for Stolpnik point us to the left on a cart track, and from the cart track already after few steps we go right upwards on a marked footpath. Further, the blazes are more frequent, and we follow them during the ascent through the forest.
Higher, we step on the forest road and we follow it to the right towards the hunting cottage Štepih (straight on a footpath - Stolpnik via Grofov štant). We continue on the macadam road, on which in approximately 15 minutes of additional walking, we get to a crossroad, where we go left and then we quickly get to the already mentioned hunting cottage.
At the hunting cottage, we leave the road and we continue left on a marked footpath in the direction of Stolpnik. Next follows a relatively short ascent through the forest and then we cross the forest road. Also on the other side of the road, we are ascending through the forest, and higher we go through a shorter panoramic part, from which a nice view opens up on part of Karawanks and on Pohorje. The path after that part returns into the forest, through which we continue all to the few minutes distant peak, where stands 25 meters high lookout tower.
