Veliki Boč (Zgornji Kovač) - Možičev vrh (via Žavcarjev vrh)

Access to starting point:
A) From the road Maribor - Dravograd, after the road sign which marks the beginning of the settlements Zgornja and Spodnja Selnica we turn right towards Sveti Duh na Ostrem Vrhu. Further, we drive through the valley of Bistrica, and we drive to the crossroad at the homestead Zgornji Kovač, where to the left continues the road towards Sveti Duh na Ostrem Vrhu, and to the right continues the road towards Žavcarjev vrh and Dom CŠOD Škorpijon. We park on an appropriate place near the crossroad.
B) From the road Dravograd - Maribor, at the end of settlements Zgornja and Spodnja Selnica we turn left towards Sveti Duh na Ostrem Vrhu. Further, we drive through the valley of Bistrica, and we drive to the crossroad at the homestead Zgornji Kovač, where to the left continues the road towards Sveti Duh na Ostrem Vrhu, and to the right continues the road towards Žavcarjev vrh and Dom CŠOD Škorpijon. We park on an appropriate place near the crossroad.

Path description:
From the starting point, we go on the right road in the direction of Planinska koča na Žavcarjevem vrhu. The path ahead leads us past individual houses and it is ascending along the stream Lipuševa graba. At few smaller crossroads, we continue straight or on the main road, and at the marked crossroad, we go right in the direction of the footpath. After the crossroad, the asphalt ends, and the road turns right and goes away from the stream. Then follows few minutes of a diagonal ascent through the forest, and when we step out of the forest, we with nice views ascend to the homestead Rumf, where we continue sharply left on a cart track. The cart track in a moderate ascent slowly turns to the right, and then on a panoramic ridge we reach homestead Ročič, behind which we reach at first still asphalted road which we follow to the right. The asphalt quickly ends, and we walk on the road to the marked crossing, where from the left joins the path from Tojzlov vrh or homestead Šiker.
Here we continue from the road slightly right in the direction of Žavcarjev vrh, where we walk few 10 strides on a wider cart track, and from there we then go left on a marked narrower cart track. Further, we for some time leave the forest and then we return into the forest and after a short descent, we return also on the macadam road. We continue through the forest, and at the nearby crossroad, we go right in the direction of marked road (left continues the path Pot grebenskih kmetij) and then in a minute of additional walking, we get to Koča na Žavcarjevem vrhu.
From the mountain hut, we continue right in the direction of Žavcarjev vrh, where we walk on a well-beaten path through the forest. After few minutes of the ascent, we go on a slightly left cart track, on which we quickly reach the 915 meters high peak.
We bypass the inscription box on the left side, and then we start descending through the forest on an unmarked footpath. Lower, we join the cart track, and we follow it straight (from the right joins a little shorter path, which from the marked branches off at the picture number 23). A little further, the path stops descending, and at the crossing of cart tracks we go on the one, which starts ascending again. During the ascent, we stick to the left direction, so that we reach an indistinct peak on also indistinct eastern ridge.
