We drive through the village Žiče, Loče, Podpeč ob Dravinji to a bigger crossroad, where signs pointing to the left for Poljčane, but we go right towards Zgornje Poljčane. We soon come in the mentioned settlement, we drive on the main road and brown sign for Boč on the right side of the road points us left uphill. On this road we drive few minutes to first mountain signposts where we also park.
Path description:
From the parking lot, we go past the sign for forest learning path, which is clearly visible and marked. After approximately 10 minutes of walking, we cross the asphalt road and we continue through the forest. We are ascending on a marked path until we get to the cart track, where we can continue directly to the summit of Boč, but we go right on a cart track in the direction of the mountain hut Dom na Boču. We follow the blazes, eventually we turn left from the cart track on a forest path. After approximately a little less than half an hour we come to the mountain hut Dom na Boču.
Behind the hut there is a tree-lined path to monument where we turn left. The footpath widens in wider path, which joins the path over Balunjača.
We soon come to steel cables by which we can continue path on easy, marked path, but we stop by the caption on the right »Zelo zahtevna plezalna pot« (very difficult climbing path), we put on harness, self-belay set, a helmet and we continue straight upwards. The route is immediately vertical, pulling with hands, probably to stop possible mountaineers, who could mistake climbing path for hiking path. We quickly come on wider step, steel cable takes us to the right and upwards. On certain point is thing slightly leaned back and we have to help ourselves with arms. Few minutes later we are already on the top of short (approximately 10-15 min) but adrenaline path, which is again marked with a sign about very demanding climbing path.
We continue past steel cables, and we practically immediately join easy, marked path, which takes us past military area by the fence to a lookout tower on the top of Boč.
