Jewel on the southern side of Pohorje - Bistriški Vintgar

After the recent heavy rainfall, I was curious about the consequences of the water flood in the vintgar. There are quite a few broken trees, in the stream bed at certain places quite clogged branches and boulders, in the upper part nature spared the surroundings, otherwise the path surprisingly well "withstood" this flood. At a few places it's noticeable that the water "took" its own paths, but no major damage to the marked path was done. Some impressions on the link below: http://www.mojalbum.com/mosovnik/bistriski-vintgar-09-11-2012 Good luck!

Since I finished on Boč earlier with the hike than planned I also popped to see Bistriški Vintgar anyway it's on the way to Maribor. Some cars in the parking lot but didn't meet anyone so I was alone and indulged in photographic pleasures which Bistriški Vintgar is just right for. Went only to the Šum waterfall. The bridge that crosses the stream for viewing the Roman quarry was washed away by water in the last floods so access is not possible. Cheers! Tone

Bistriški Vintgar was just right today, as I had to be in Bistrica at one due to obligations. Good four hours wandering the Vintgar, though a bit muddy, were just nice to stretch limbs. Sun showed weakly, but noticeably warmer than previous days. Path without features, requires care due to moisture, but lots of water (some data, huh?) so more to see than days when it just trickles in pools. Nice trip, can extend to Three Kings and further on Pohorje, but today no time. If you can, worth it. New life bubbles everywhere, from primroses to frogs, people not spared.
