Suggestions for descriptions of routes that don't exist yet

There's a big difference between trail description and smearing on rocks and bushes. The path is trodden (e.g. Žavčarji, Kalce), I don't know why it needs to be smeared too. And for whom?

As I wrote above, that's why. It's because the path is not only trodden but also quite visited. And if so, it's clear that there will always be more or less wild marking attempts on it, whether we want it or not. Therefore, in my opinion, in such cases it's better to deviate from principles and officially mark the path rather than leave it to spontaneous attempts. If I give an opposite example, e.g. on hunting passages from Suhadolnik towards Kočni, something like that is not sensible. It's a much wilder world that people with such interests also venture into, and surely no one will mark it wildly, so there's no point talking about official markings at all. Almost everyone walks the Žmavčarji, yet the path is still "unmarked". In such cases, it's wise in my opinion to stop fooling ourselves and recognize the situation as it is.

I somehow agree with jax too (and not because he supported me on the cows ). But I'm surprised that the standard argument of opponents of adding new paths hasn't come up yet, namely that the PZS statute says it must not be done and amen, with which the debate is concluded because that's what the authority says! Paths that are visited should simply be professionally marked, equipped,... (one of the purposes of marking is precisely to get people on a common path, corridor through pristine wilderness, so they don't wander everywhere around), better than doing it unprofessionally and amateurishly i.e. deficiently which of course can lead not only to even greater destruction of nature but even to accidents. Even some via ferrata, yes even in high mountains, can be opened. If Austrians, Swiss and French do it, I don't know why it would be a problem here. As for real wilderness and solitude, let it of course remain so...hmmm...as long as it remains... Foreign tourists apparently visit us also because of that. Because not everything is commercialized, marked, messed up,... That's good but nevertheless it could or already has come to a spontaneous development in this area that would harm this wilderness more than benefit it. Or wouldn't it make sense to at least somewhat regulate this wilderness and thereby perhaps lose some tourist, and preserve it as such for future generations.

LG, better don't tackle descriptions, because the purpose of the description is to help, not confuse, the one using it. I partially agree with vansims and completely disagree with jax. I think hunting paths and fire brigade paths have deeper meaning than knafeljc's marking and also the demands to turn completely pathless terrain into marked are sometimes simply too much. I have nothing against marked paths but strongly against forcibly marked ones. A good example is Škrbinjek.

Very friendly of you , but I agree it's a waste of time and possibly mislead someone with some description. It's not easy with this Vrh Krnice.

A bit too dependent on trees and cairns that might not be there anymore. Otherwise I agree with Franco and Juš. It's still better that some path is wildly marked than 100% approved by PZS and suddenly a highway.

It's never better that a path is wildly marked, without any rules, that can only mean problems.

What kind? What basis do you even have to trust just any markings? With Knafeljc's etc. everything is clear and standardized. If people blindly trusted markings, many would get lost on forest parcel boundaries, sections, compartments ...

Million analogies of what is better than what else we can draw according to the above pattern. There is no "better" here. It is a condemnable act and let it remain just like that and only like that. Moreover, such writing is dangerous on a public forum so that someone does not get some smart idea to draw a few marks past Martuljek, because it is simply better that way than everything blessed by PZS. But still, what problems? As you yourself say, we have no basis to trust "just any markings". But that is how people are, naive, if not consciously then subconsciously, some more, others less. And if wild markings mislead just one mountaineer into any kind of trouble, it is already enough.

I didn't advocate wild markings anywhere. Compared to the proposed measures, they seem like a smaller evil to me.

You forget the basics. And that is, that for every officially marked trail and its condition the trail maintainer - PD - is responsible. Marking everywhere is not an option also and especially because of that. Not to mention the problems in obtaining permissions from landowners through whose land the trail passes, standards for trail maintenance (width), necessary securing of more demanding trail sections and in the final phase also the financial means needed in such cases.

Strahinjščica, the slope that is somehow near Krapina pasture, has no description here... and with its 846 m.a.s.l. it's not among low mountains... In some future I will upload trail descriptions (if no one beats me to it...) Above Ožbalt is Seršenov vrh... whether I was really on it I don't remember, I was here when I was a child, but I remember we left the car in the village and climbed along the stream on the road... Yes, Lendava hills really aren't high, but this beautiful hill deserves some description too... In the ninth month I plan ascent to Galyatető, known as the second highest peak in Hungary (Zaprav is third...) , and this peak will also get its description here... If there's time I'll go to Kekestető via the green trail which is the only one without a description...

I know Sršenov vrh, I've already checked how the trail goes on the map and where the starting point should be. Maybe sometime in autumn because currently I can't due to health reasons. Regards! Tone

Some more suggestions: On Boč the trails from Gornja Poljčane are well described. But there must be a trail also from the south side from Rogaška Slatina. I know it joins at the pass a bit above the hut, but where is the starting point? I also suggest making a description of the trail from the hut all the way to Balunjača, but via the new via ferrata and then to the top. Whether the mountain saddle would be the ascent goal is questionable. But it's quite unbelievable to me that Savinjsko sedlo doesn't have a description here on the mountain... With the team we plan a hike on the Little Prince trail which is on Velebit near Gračac. This trail is somewhat demanding and quite interesting with its natural features.

At the pass above the hut on Boč two mountain trails join... From Zgornja Kostrivnica, start in the center of the settlement...length about 3000 meters and 430 positive elevation meters. From Rogaška Slatina, start in the center of Rogaška Slatina, via Cerovec, Grilova kapela, Gaveza and Formilo...length about 10 kilometers and 750 positive elevation meters. In the broader plan for description definitely. When?!?. Maybe sometime in the future...Regards

Trail Slovenska Bistrica - Veliko Tinje - Rep - Planina - Trije Kralji - Veliki vrh. The variant through Vintgar and past Maroltova jelka is described, but this one isn't... Also the neighboring Hungarians have made the first extreme via ferrata. It's located in the Bakony mountains near the town of Csesznek, by the ruins of an old castle. (Nearby larger town is Zirc). When I have time I'll visit it...
