Nice greeting
For Saturday I'm thinking of Triglav - is it smart or stupid to go (I'm experienced), but I can't decide, advise

The ascent from Škrbina is dangerous and some sections too. The descent I think even more so. My son and I ascended from Dolič on Sunday. The start from Škrbina has two dangerous holes and it made a lump in my throat too. It stopped him a bit here, but he gathered courage and continued. In three hours, slowly and with a lot of patience we were at the summit. View like in a fairy tale. Even for me despite being on Triglav several times a year. The sea was visible like never before. One of the nicer ascents so far.

Provocative question:
What do you see on Triglav?
Already around Triglav we have so many beautiful peaks with even better views. Why just and only Triglav? When you mention surrounding peaks to the vast majority of Triglav visitors, they just stare at you blankly. They know them and only the Triglav visit matters

Where is the provocation here?!? As for the peaks around Triglav, I've been to quite a few of them. I know them too. As much as I noticed yesterday on the summit, other hikers were also talking about other peaks. But it is true at least for me, Triglav is incredible for me. And there is nothing and no one that will ruin the view and ascent for me.

Yes, true. It was noticeable also during visits, as around the hut at Kredarica it was like an anthill. On Saturday we went from Vrata via Tominšek over Staničeva hut to Kredarica, from there in the morning first to the top of dad, followed by descent to Rudno polje. It was a very nice tour.

Regarding fallen snow please, can you
advise on ascent to Triglav, especially those who were on Triglav this
weekend. Monday from Vrata over Prag, sleep Kredarica, next day Triglav and same way back. No big high mountain experience, fitness wise ok. Thanks

At Kredarica there is still quite some snow, crampons and ice axe highly recommended, if not mandatory.

If you have no high mountain experience, I don't recommend your first snow tour - especially don't go alone.

Already today it snowed on Kredarica and lower. Also bad weather is forecast for the weekend. Conditions in the mountains are winterly and suitable only for mountaineers experienced in winter conditions.

As far as I know, since 14.10.2007 the Triglav hut on Kredarica is closed too. The ascent is thus suitable only for the most trained and experienced mountaineers.

Best to ask yourself, even better I advise you to call Kredarica. If you were as experienced as you say, in my opinion you wouldn't ask. It seems you lack experience and now seek support or "uržah#" to hit the trail. Meteorologists, mountain rescuers and experienced mountaineers would advise against the mountains.
