Marko, thanks but see the tour ain't some tough bite; you can do it in the shortest variant in 5h. We yesterday chose longer variant and took 7h for it - in that time three longer breaks totaling 1h, and we didn't rush. I advise doing it in the order I wrote unless you add crossing Peak above Škrbina to the tour, which extends it a bit. Anyway to pic 4, when you climb to Migovec the path is unmistakably marked mulattiera, further more faded marks and cairns but can't miss it as you have everything in sight. In this part in approx. a month you'll tumble among whole gardens of sinkholes nasmeh

Could you please just tell what the road to Tolminske Ravne is like? When I read some route descriptions from this starting point, they wrote in comments that the road is quite problematic. Is that true? Is the problem that the road surface is torn up or because the road is narrow and meeting is a big problem? This summer I'd really like to go on this presented route to Tolminski Kuk, but I'm a bit worried about the road nasmeh

Road to Ravne totally ordinary for our parts. Money for renovation from capital doesn't reach here.

Since they widened and fixed those few bends above the power plant the little road is totally fine - we've driven narrower and worse ones. Regarding meetings I don't believe there'll be problems as in village Ravne live three permanent residents. Last but not least on the road speed limit 40km velik nasmeh

Yes I saw on Wikipedia that only a few people live there. Probably for meeting the bigger problem is meeting other hill visitors who also drive to/from starting point. Morning doesn't worry me as I arrive very early when usually no one at start. More worry for way back down nasmeh

Green Peak 2053 m. (19.3.2025) Couldn't wish for a better day. In Ravne, minus two. But then on the path it got warmer and warmer. In the sun somewhere in the gully we had 30 degrees. On the summit a bit of wind was blowing. Quite a lot of snow had drifted in. The scree on the winter path was covered. We could continue over the avalanche debris into the gully. Because almost everything had slid down. Breaking trail was tough for us. We know the winter path and didn't need navigation. In the last part we were surprised by the tracks. I had the privilege of being the first to break trail into the snowy whiteness and silence to the summit. Otherwise we alternated in breaking trail. We descended by the ascent path. We had to be quite careful because the snow had softened due to the sun, which was warming summer-like. We were the only hikers.

The highest one doesn't look high from this side.

7. 03. 2026. Green Peak 2052 m. As usual, we went from Tolminske Ravne. We didn't know the conditions. We just hoped that the snow would hold better than last time when we turned back. There were visible tracks of skier Andrej, who seemed to be the only one on the summit. Also the footprints towards the summit that he made. He described the conditions to us, the kind he had. When we approached the winter route, where there is scree under the snow, we quickly put on crampons and later under the gully we used the ice axe. The poles waited in the snow as usual. There is really a lot of snow. There will still be avalanches. Also from the Škrbina slab. On the descent, the sound of an avalanche was heard right from there. The snow held nicely. It was also warm. Only the wind had some work. On the summit, it was really fairy-tale like. The whole way. Except in the last part on the descent, where the snow gave way underfoot because the sun had softened it. We breathed a sigh of relief when we reached the dry part. We decided to go down the shorter steep path to Ravne. It's steep for going up. For descent, you have to be quite careful because there is a lot of leaves on the path. If you don't make it the first time, try again sometime. It's never too late. nasmeh

In the morning the snow held well on this section.

We catch our breath where it was nice to walk.

I expected better conditions for mid-March but fresh avalanches from Migovec greeted me, I even fled from one because it started rumbling higher up and poured down where the path goes. I return to the junction and go along the upper path to the Na Kalu pasture and to Grušnica, also here at least half a meter of snow that sinks in, in places it's even bare. From Grušnica I return on my own towards Tolminske Ravne but got lost in a steep forest, descended the gullies with the help of an ice axe to the upper meadow behind Tolminske Ravne.

On this circular route with four peaks I was on Sunday, 30.08. From Raven first to Tol. Migovec, then to Tol. Kuk, Zeleni vrh and finally to Vrh nad Škrbino. The weather was excellent, just the right amount of clouds for beautiful views in all directions and for a little shade that eased the heat.
The path is fine, from planina Kal to the start of the dwarf pines it's mowed, protections on the more demanding part of the path to Vrh nad Škrbino repaired. Only on the part of the path back towards the starting point one has to crawl a bit through this year's vegetation.
