Hunting cottage Gozdnik - Gozdnik

Access to starting point:
From highway Ljubljana - Celje we go to the exit Žalec and follow the road ahead towards Žalec. In Žalec we continue right towards Šempeter, but only to a crossroad, where the road towards Griže and Zabukovica branches off to the left. When we come in the village Migojnice, we continue straight towards Zabukovica. Towards the end of the village Zabukovica we come to a crossroad, where the road branches off to the right towards the hunting cottage Gozdnik. This road is then ascending by the stream Artišnica and higher brings us at two successive crossroads, where at both we continue left. We park on a parking lot by the road, only few ten meters above the hunting cottage Gozdnik.

Path description:
Near the parking lot, we notice numerous signposts, which point us to the right upwards. Already after few steps of ascent, the path brings us to the crossing, where it says Gozdnik left and right. Here we continue left and after a short ascent through the forest, we step on the forest road which we only cross. The path then ascends on gentle stairs and then brings us on a cart track, where we continue right and then immediately left on a footpath which starts ascending steeply through a thin forest. A pretty steep path then ascends diagonally, on a steep with a forest covered grassy slopes. On this part of the ascent in wet there is a danger of slipping, and in snow at this spot there is also a great risk of avalanches. The steepness then decreases and the path brings us on a cart track which we immediately leave because a marked path runs by the cart track steeply upwards. A little higher, we cross the mentioned cart track and the path on a less and less steep slope brings us to the summit.
