Lovska koča Urška - Racna gora

Access to starting point:
From the Ljubljana–Koper highway take the Unec exit and follow the road ahead in the direction of Cerknica. We then drive through Cerknica, Martinjak and Grahovo to the village Bloška polica, where at the crossroads we continue right in the direction of the village Lož (straight Sodražica, access also possible from that direction). Just a little after the village Lož we come to Stari trg pri Ložu, where we continue left in the direction of the village Markovec. In the village Markovec we continue left in the direction of Knežje njive and then drive on an ascending road which brings us higher to the next crossroads. We continue straight (left Knežja njiva) on a macadam road which we follow to the road sign 6 km. Just a little after this sign we come to a crossroads, where we turn right and then drive another good 100 m to the hunting cottage Urška, which is the starting point of our trip.

Route description:
From the hunting cottage Urška we head onto the footpath in the direction of Racna gora. The path initially runs along a relatively gentle cart track from which, after a few minutes of walking, a marked footpath branches off to the left. The path ahead bypasses a larger cottage on the left side and behind it starts to ascend more steeply. The already quite steep path crosses two cart tracks higher up and behind them ascends even more steeply up the slope straight upwards. The poorly visible but relatively well-marked path joins the path coming from Vrhnika pri Ložu just a little below the summit. We continue left and follow the path, which still runs through the forest, to the summit of Racna gora.
