Access to starting point:
From the highway Ljubljana - Celje we go to the exit Šentrupert (from Ljubljana) or Šempeter (from Celje) and continue driving in the direction of Prebold and Trbovlje. After Prebold, the road brings us to the village Marija Reka, where we continue driving along the stream. When, on the left side of the road, we notice the mountain signposts (those are located across a small bridge, on the other side of the stream by the edge of a house), we park on the parking lot by the road (the parking lot is located 100 meters before the beginning of the path, and another parking lot is 500 meters above the beginning of the path).
Route description:
The described path, due to passage through private land, is no longer passable. A new beginning of the path is located slightly lower along the road near the Strgarjev kamnolom quarry.
From the parking lot, we first walk along the main road to the start of the footpath, cross a small bridge, and then, between two houses and gardens, ascend onto the path that leads into the forest. The path, which ascends steeply, already after a few dozen steps brings us to a cart track, which we quickly leave because the blazes direct us to the right upwards onto a poorly trodden but marked little path. The still bad and overgrown path then brings us a little higher to a decaying house. Before the house the path turns left (poorly marked) and ascends diagonally above it. After approximately half an hour of walking, we come to a farm, where there is a junction. We continue straight in the direction of Golava and immediately after the house we turn right. After a few more steps, a sign on a tree informs us that we will continue the ascent on a demanding path. The path then ascends gently for some time, then quickly becomes quite steep. We continue ascending on an increasingly steep path, which mostly leads through the forest (exceptions are rare vantage points). Soon the path brings us below a shorter rocky cliff, from which we detour to the left onto very steep but secured slopes. With the help of a steel cable we cross this slope, after which the steepness only slightly decreases. We continue ascending on a steep path that is dangerous for slipping when wet, on which we occasionally have to use our hands. A little below the summit the steepness decreases and the path brings us to the bivouac on Golava.

Well, this path on descent is very awkward/dangerous, especially if the ground is soaked.

The path is unpleasant in wet conditions even on ascent. In the upper part there could be another ladder!

The path is poorly marked already in the initial section, since my buddy and I persisted, we climbed to the summit off-trail and returned via Zvonetova pot, and in the section below the homestead we lost the markers again. The path itself is very demanding even when dry.

Hello! I would like to ask what the current conditions on this trail are like, and whether this trail would be suitable for me, even though I get dizzy in heights and cliffs and I'm afraid of heights, if it's suitable for me to climb it and if on this trail you accidentally slip or fall into a precipice or there's nothing too dangerous that you could fall into. I'm in good physical condition, so steepness doesn't bother me. Best regards, Aditaker

Aditaker! First, you need to know that the trail start is now a bit further north - no longer through the Strgar farm. This trail is demanding, but there are no exposed sections. I also get dizzy, but on Golava that's no problem (like on the neighboring Krvavica...) As for conditions, don't ask me because I haven't been here for almost three years. Too bad - Golava is very nice, but with these petrol prices and a small child it's a miracle if you go to the mountains at all...

Marx where much further north is the start, can you approximately describe where I park the car and where I need to go at the start so I don't miss the real beginning of the trail and also if it's marked at all? Best regards, Aditaker
