Path description:
From the parking lot, we go for some time back on Via Abbazia, then right in Via don Domenico Tessitori. There all the way to the last house (to here 20 minutes), where right from there we notice the first blaze and sign 420, the path goes at first lightly past garden with fruit trees, we then come on the edge of the forest, where the path goes mostly straight without ascending below steepness right above it. Then we come to an old bridge, which we cross over the stream Rio Travans. The path goes left by the stream, then turns a little away in the pine forest, mostly on flat, crosses some gullies, then starts ascending steeper. After quite some steep zig-zags we come to a crossroad la Forcia with a chapel (to here additional 1 h 30 min), where we turn right on the path 421. We continue through a pine forest, partly on zig-zags, in the beginning quite steeply, later steepness decreases, meanwhile also a view opens up on Sernio and the upper part of Monticello. After a little panoramic part path turns to the right, is slightly ascending, higher again to the left, whereupon we come to a crossroad, where the path 421 branches off to the right and we go left towards the summit (to here a good hour from the chapel). After a good 5 minutes we are on crossroad, we continue left on a military mule track, and right path goes on a ridge Creste delle Betulle. Mule track is still clearly visible, even though time eat it away a little, but solid footpath nicely in zig-zags brings us below the peak, where at one of last turns there is also a cave (to here half an hour), and in the next 5 minutes we come from the north side to the summit of Monticello.
