Parking above Scuglielârs - Mali Karman / Monte Cuarnan (CAI 717 - 715)

Access to starting point:
From central Slovenia on Gorenjska highway, which we leave it at Hrušica and we continue on a regional road through the valley Zgornja Savska dolina past Rateče in Trbiž / Tarvisio. West from Trbiž we continue on the main road SS13 towards Videm / Udine and we leave it before Humin / Gemona di Friuli. In the center of the town road sign points us left and in zig-zags uphill towards agrotourism on the mountain pasture Karman. But we already far before that on one of the right turns we turn left on a steep concrete transport road, on which after 200 meters we come to the parking lot in front of bridge of torrent Vegliata.

Path description:
From the parking lot, we go on stone footpath CAI 713 in the forest. After few minutes, we turn right on the path CAI 717, which is winding in zig-zags on a steep slope to the edge of forested broad ridge. Over smaller grassy plain is ascending asphalt road towards the mountain pasture Karman. On the other side of it we run into a chapel (surprisingly it is dedicated to Gilles Villeneuve, Canadian driver of formula 1, who tragically died in the year 1982), past which we go again in the forest. We soon bypass the holiday cottage, and from there we are a little steeper ascending through shallow gully. In between path is twice crossed by the cart track. After few minutes strenuous ascent ends, because we reach the grassy slope, on which we go to electric fence. We have to find appropriate place, where we cross on the forest road which runs from the mountain pasture Karman. The path CAI 715 we can join after 500 meters at wide turning point at the end of the road or few ten meters higher after shortcut, in doing so we have to once again step over electric fence. On CAI 715 we go ahead over steep meadows past the cottage Pischiutti towards the upper slope, where soon from the left joins the path from the mountain pasture Karman. After few meters, we reach the peak with a chapel.
