Pod Debelo glavo (konec ceste) - Raskovec (via hunting cottage)

Access to starting point:
From the highway Ljubljana - Jesenice, we take the exit Lesce and follow the road towards Bled and further towards Bohinjska Bistrica and Lake Bohinj. After the settlement Laški Rovt, we will come to a smaller intersection, where the road leading to the starting points of the paths to Rodica, mountain pasture Suha, Šija, Vogel... and the scout camp Laški Rovt branches off to the left. The macadam road immediately enters the forest and first ascends past the mentioned scout camp, then ascends relatively steeply for a few kilometres. After a little less than 6.5 km of driving on macadam, we will arrive at a somewhat larger intersection, where the road towards mountain pasture Planina Storeča raven (starting point of the path to Vogel) branches off to the right. Here we continue straight ahead and after approximately 50 m of further driving, we arrive at the left bend, where the starting point of the path to mountain pasture Suha, Rodica and Šija is located. From here, we continue for approximately 1 km on the road leading towards the ski area Kobla, then at the intersection we continue on the upper right road, along which we drive for approximately 2 km, or to its end, where we park.
From the main road to the starting point, there is approximately 9.5 km of macadam.

Route description:
About 20 m before the end of the road (in the direction of ascent), a poorly visible footpath branches off to the right downwards. After a few steps of descent, the path becomes more visible and heads right, where without major changes in altitude it crosses the slopes towards the east. After approximately 15 minutes of walking, the path gradually starts to ascend and a little higher joins the path from Vodel (possible starting point). The moderately steep path then quickly brings us out of the forest, where we notice the hunting cottage by the path.
Ahead, the path ascends gently for some time along the bottom of the valley, then turns slightly right and in a traversing ascent starts to ascend steeply. Higher up, the steepness eases and a partly poorly visible footpath leads us through a series of smaller valleys to mountain pasture Poljane.
From the shepherd's hut, we continue along the right (western) edge of the mountain pasture, but only to the point where a footpath branches off slightly to the right into the dwarf pines. The well-visible path then ascends more steeply and after approximately 15 minutes of ascent brings us to a poorly visible junction.
We continue left on a much worse path, which is still followable. From the path, which is becoming ever worse, a passage soon opens towards a hollow that ends on the other side with scree. After a short descent through high grasses surrounded by dwarf pines (the passages are nice), we reach the foot of an uninviting scree field. However, the "path" to Raskovec leads right across this scree (alternatively right and then along the foot of Mali Raskovec, but this "path" is often impassable due to dwarf pines), which in the lower part is full of large rocks that are not very stable (careful). A little higher, the rocks give way to steep grasses, which soon turn into gravelly scree, up which we must ascend. Approximately 50 metres of altitude before the direct ascent to the summit is blocked by the wall, a nice passage opens to the right (cairn). This is followed by traversing mostly rocky slopes running along the foot of the northern wall of Raskovec. Further on, a nicely passable but somewhat steeper passage leads to an indistinct saddle between Mali and Veliki Raskovec (if we chose the right variant in the hollow below, the two paths join here). From the saddle onwards, the path is easier to orient on.
From the saddle, we continue left along and on the initially indistinct ridge of Raskovec, which becomes more visible step by step and higher up already slightly exposed. We follow this relatively steep ridge all the way to the panoramic summit.
We can descend along the south-western ridge, which brings us to the marked path Črna prst - Rodica in about 5 minutes. If we opt for descent via one of these two summits, a walk along the macadam road to the starting point awaits us in the lower part (see map).
