Polhov Gradec (Blagaj Castle) - Polhograjska Gora (Sveti Lovrenc) (by cart track)

Access to starting point:
A) From Dobrova, Horjul or Gorenja vas we drive to Polhov Gradec, there from the main crossroad we continue in the direction of Črni Vrh. After a short ascent, we get to Polhov Gradec mansion, where the road leads us through walls, after that behind the wall we turn left and we park on an appropriate place by the road, where there are also hiking signposts (smaller parking lot is also before the wall of Polhov Gradec mansion).
B) From Črni Vrh we descend in Polhov Gradec, there before the wall we turn right and we park on an appropriate place by the road.

Path description:
From the starting point, we continue on a narrower asphalt road in the direction of ski jumping hills (right beekeeping center and Sveti Lovrenc), and it leads by the edge of nicely settled castle park. After few minutes, we get to a marked crossing, where the path branches off to the right on Sveti Lovrenc (Polhograjska gora) - path past castle water catchment, and we continue straight, still on an asphalt road. Some 10 strides ahead, at the smaller crossroad we continue right, and then we walk past few more houses, and behind them asphalt slowly ends. The macadam road is further ascending on panoramic slopes, from which a nice view opens up on Polhov Gradec and surrounding hills, and a little ahead we get to a smaller crossroad, where we continue on the upper right road (straight Praproče, Mali vrh, and it is possible also to go on Sveti Lovrenc), which at the right turn changes into a relatively rocky cart track. We continue the ascent on a cart track which is diagonally ascending through the forest, only on one part, for some time a view opens up a little. When the cart track ends, we continue on a marked path, which about 10 minutes higher joins the normal path from Polhov Gradec on Polhograjska gora.
We follow the mentioned path to the left, and there we are for some time still steeply ascending, and then we join the wide cart track, on which in few steps we get to the former open door farm. At the "farm" from a pleasant meadow, a view opens up a little.
We continue the ascent on the right side of the nearby chapel (one path leads also on the left side) and we again pass into the forest. About a minute higher, we get to the ridge of Polhograjska Gora, from where beautiful views starting to open up on surrounding hills. From here follows only a minute of walking and the path brings us to the peak with a church of St. Lovrenc, from where a view opens up on most of the sides.
