Access to starting point:
First, we drive to Železniki, where a signpost for village Prtovč points us on a side road. After few kilometers of a driving road brings us to a crossroad, where we continue left in the direction of Ratitovec and village Prtovč. Ahead road brings us to the church in the village, where there is a parking lot on which we park.
Path description:
From the parking lot, we continue on the asphalt road upwards. After few meters of walking, we come to a crossroad, where the road branches off to the right towards the hunting cottage. We continue left to the next crossroad where there are signposts. We go to the right road in the direction of Ratitovec via Razor (left Ratitovec via Povden). The road leads us past last houses in the village to the spot, where the road ends.
Further, we continue on a cart track which starts ascending through the forest. After a good 15 minutes of walking footpath few times avoids the cart track but it is ascending nearby. A little higher we cross the forest road and we continue on a wide cart track. At the spot, where the path from the hunting cottage joins the cart track turns into a footpath. After a shorter crossing of a little steeper slope path brings us into a valley (cirque) named Razor. Forest is becoming thinner, so on the right side we notice few cliffs of Kosmati vrh. And after a short ascent, the path brings us to a smaller plain, where there is a crossing.
Here we go right in the direction of the mountain pasture Klom (left mountain hut Krekova koča na Ratitovcu). The path for a short time steeply ascends and over a grazing fence (electric fence) brings us to a poorly visible crossing, where the path branches off to the right on Kosmati vrh. We continue straight on a well visible path, which only few steps further brings us to the next more noticeable crossing on the saddle Vratca.
Here we continue sharply left (straight mountain pasture Pečana, right mountain pasture Klom) on the path which quickly brings us by the edge of panoramic ridge. This moderately steep path then brings us on Gladki vrh (1667m) from which we in few minutes descend to the mountain hut on Ratitovec.
