Access to starting point:
From highway Ljubljana - Jesenice we go to the exit Lesce and follow the road ahead towards Bled. In Bled at the traffic lights, the signs for Pokljuka point us to the right. Ahead we drive through Gorje and past the abandoned ski slope Zatrnik to Rudno polje on Pokljuka (large parking lot, barracks and shooting range).
Path description:
From the parking lot, we go on the forest road (direction Triglav), on which in ten minutes of gentle ascent we come to a ski slope Viševnik. Here signs lead right (path on Triglav continues on the road) on a marked footpath which is further moderately ascending by the edge of the forest and by ski lift of the nearby ski slope. Higher, we again step on the road which we follow to the right (straight Viševnik). We continue on the road which at first crosses a ski track (mountain pasture Krasce), and then passes into the forest and splits into two parts.
We continue left (straight mountain hut Blejska koča) and we continue on for public traffic closed forest road which quickly brings us on short panoramic part of the path. Here the road turns sharply to the left and in a gentle ascent brings us back into the forest. A little higher road turns to the right, and then starts gradually descending.
When the road starts descending, we need to pay attention, because soon to the left worse unmarked cart track branches off.
We continue on the mentioned cart track which in 3 minutes brings us to some sort of clearing. Here we ascend on a clearing straight upwards, where we notice old hunting footpath, on which we continue the ascent. The footpath then leads in the forest, where for some time entirely flattens. We short time continue through an indistinct small valley, where we can notice numerous karst phenomenas (abyss, limestone pavements and similar), and then we pass over on gentle slopes, where the footpath slowly starts vanishing, but at least for now the path is relatively easy to follow. The path ahead for some time crosses slopes towards the right, and then it brings us in bottom part of a small valley Zgornji Razor. Here barely visible footpath turns a little to the left and is then ascending by the edge of the already mentioned small valley. At first, we are ascending on the right side, and then the footpath which few times entirely vanishes, slowly passes on the left side of a small valley, where it is ascending below the steep slopes. During the ascent, we have to step over some fallen trees, and "path", brings us out of the forest on the more and more panoramic slopes. Here we continue straight on wider small valley, and after few minutes of additional walking, we step on a marked path which leads from the mountain hut Blejska koča towards the saddle Srenjski preval.
When we step on the mentioned marked path, we follow it to the left, and it quickly brings us to a marked crossing, where the path on Debeli vrh branches off to the right, and we continue slightly left on the path which on the left side bypasses already mentioned peak. With a view on a plateau Pokljuka and Spodnje Bohinjske gore, we for some time cross occasionally also little steeper slopes, after that when also second turn-off for Debeli vrh branches off to the right, we get to Solnice (at Solnice is the lowest point of the ridge between Tosc and Debela peč).
From Solnice a nice view opens up in Krma and mountains, which steeply rising above it. The path ahead passes into Blejska konta (small valley between Veliki Selišnik and Draški rob), where it is at first gently, and then steeper and steeper ascending. After a shorter steep ascent path suddenly flattens and brings us on a plateau terrain south from Draški rob. Follows only about a minute of walking and the path brings us to a marked crossing below the saddle Srenjski preval.
Here we continue right in the direction of saddle Srenjski preval (left downwards Rudno polje on a marked path) and after approximately 10 minutes of additional walking, we get to the already mentioned saddle.
From the saddle Srenjski preval we continue right (left Viševnik) on the path which already after few additional strides, it brings us to the next crossing. Here we continue straight upwards (left Studorski preval) on the path which starts ascending steeply on a crumbly terrain. A very steep path leads us on a slope almost straight upwards (very crumbly and danger of falling stones). After half an hour of ascent from the saddle Srenjski preval path brings us on the main ridge, from which we have to the top only few steps of walking towards the right.
We can descend on normal path.
On the way: Srenjski preval (1959m)
