Selnica ob Dravi - Sveti Duh na Ostrem Vrhu (Aljaževa pot)

Access to starting point:
On regional road Maribor - Dravograd in Selnica ob Dravi at the traffic light crossroad we turn towards the primary school. We leave the car at the school parking lot.

Path description:
From the school, we go to the north towards the settlement, past the transformer, and we stick to the left. After 10 minutes on the left, 100 meters from the path there is the church of St. John the Baptist on Janževa gora (404 meters), we continue right on the road upwards. We walk on a panoramic, sunny slope. From the road, we step right on a path towards the edge of the forest; along the fenced area for wild animals we get to the farm Katržanovi (536 meters). A view! We turn right through the yard into the forest and we ascend on a forest cart track towards the top of rib. The steepness decreases and we are soon at homestead Grušovnikovi (760 meters). To here it is 1h 15min, the steepest part of the path is behind us. Over the saddle we step on the other side into the forest. After a short ascent on the left there is a viewpoint on a cliff (845 meters)! Next follows a walk through a tree-lined path of deciduous trees on almost flat past the hunting observatories to the forest road. From the road, we go left on a beaten footpath to a great viewpoint - Kranjčeve pečine (960 meters). Here is a box with an inscription book and a stamp of the path Aljaževa pot. A magnificent view on the walked path, Pohorje, Peca, Golica. To here we needed a good 2 hours.
From the clearing, we descend on a forest path above the abandoned homestead Kranjčeva domačija to the road. Next follows a flat walk on a driving macadam road and a little on a footpath among fir trees, past the highest point of the path below Kolarjev vrh (985 meters) and then we go downwards. Out of the forest we for a moment step on a grassy clearing, Jarčeva raven (830 meters), with an idyllic view through the forest window towards the church of the Holy Spirit on Ostri Vrh. On a wide forest road we come out of the forest at Sršen (860 meters) to the main road Selnica ob Dravi - Sveti Duh na Ostrem Vrhu. To Sveti Duh (903 meters) is only a short walk. Altogether 3 hours.
