Zgornje Izlake - Zabreznik (Sveti Miklavž) (via Zgornje Izlake)

Access to starting point:
A) From the direction of Ljubljana or Maribor on the highway, we head to the exit Trojane, Izlake, Zagorje, Trbovlje and follow the road down the Trojane klanec to the settlement Izlake, where at the first ground-marked crossroads (at Tuš market Ajdi) we turn left and follow the road approximately 200 m to the crossroads, where the road branches off right towards the cemetery. We follow this road upwards, past the church to the large gravel parking lot at the cemetery, where we leave the car.
B) From the direction of Zagorje: When we arrive in the settlement Izlake, we drive past the Petrol gas station, ETI factory and primary school, at the next crossroads we turn right and follow the road approximately 200 m to the crossroads, where the road branches off right towards the cemetery. We follow this road upwards, past the church to the large gravel parking lot at the cemetery, where we leave the car.

Route description:
From the parking lot, we head ahead on the asphalt road, which we will soon leave, already after 200 meters. The path leads us past a cluster of houses and an apiary, to a cluster of houses, where we turn from the road left, through a meadow onto a forest path. We follow it right past benches and walk uphill on the forest road until it flattens. At this point, the road makes a sharp turn to the left, and we leave it and go straight on a poorly visible trail towards the rock, which we use for orientation. Here we again encounter a forest trail - ditch, which we follow left uphill to a flat area. To the left leads the path back towards Izlake, and we continue right uphill. After a few minutes of walking, we arrive at the so-called Špičnik (529 m), over which we descend a few meters. We come to benches, where the path to Zabreznik via Loke joins us. We follow the path straight uphill past rocks, where the path steeply ascends. After a few minutes of walking, the path brings us to the top of the ridge, along which we walk past the bivouac, which is hidden on the right side out of sight, all the way to the clearing on the top of Zabreznik. The view on Čemšeniška planina in nice weather is truly beautiful here. On the other side of the clearing, the path brings us also to the church of St. Miklavž.
We can extend the trip to Gamberk Castle or even to Čemšeniška planina.
