AT THE IDYLLIC JÄGERSEE
From Kleinarl in the Salzburger Sportwelt, my path leads further back into the valley and finally to Jägersee, where I park my car and walk along the lake towards the end of the valley. It's still very flat here and I can revel in the beauty of the lake. Fishermen sit in their boats, rods quietly held in the water, waiting for the day's catch. As if the lake weren't impressive enough, a steep rock face dominates the scene in the background, adding the necessary touch of drama to the idyll. Slowly but surely, I leave Jägersee behind, the path leads me through green, dense forest along the Kleinarlbach. Up to here, one could also drive on the toll road and leave the car. But for me, that wouldn't do; the impressions of the hike here were well worth the one hour of walking time.
