The excursion leads to the Sanctuary of San Romedio, one of the most characteristic hermitages in Europe.
We are in Val di Non, near Sanzeno and Coredo. The sanctuary rises on the summit of a rock spur over 70 meters high where the Saint lived and died in the 11th century. The Sanctuary consists of five small superimposed churches connected by a long staircase of 131 steps built from the 12th century. The path carved into the rock leading to the Sanctuary of San Romedio is one of the most beautiful and significant walks in Trentino.
