Description:
I discovered a Northern Rough Green Snake (Opheodrys aestivus) lying in the middle of the Appalachian Trail in Northern Virginia. I spent the next hour photographing and videoing it and in this episode I tell you everything you need to know about these beautiful snakes including: Common names, scientific name and its meaning, size and length, how to identify, how to distinguish a Rough Green Snake from a Smooth Green Snake, close-ups of head and scales, define and show what 'keeled' scales are, what they eat, where they live and more! I also show how they change to a blue color through photos of a bike trail green snake victim!
