Speckkarspitze Traverse (full tour from and back to Halleranger Haus)

Description:
Speckkarspitze is a popular mountain - we met ten mountaineers at the summit. It's also a beautiful viewpoint. But more importantly, traversing it, ascending the southwest ridge (sections I/I-II, partly airy) and descending the northwest ridge (normal route, tricky sections wire-secured), makes it a mountaineering experience. From Hallerangerhaus (good food, friendly warden) it's five to (max) six hours. As a day tour from Scharnitz like us, take the mountain bike at least to Kastenalm and roll out along the Isar. In any case, add about five hours, and Speckkarspitze is a full-day, highly varied program.
