It is the site of the homonymous Ovindoli (AQ) ski resort. Together with the homonymous mountain group, it is located on the southern edge of the Rocche plateau, in the locality known as Piano di Ovindoli, a plain extending at about 1,400 m a.s.l. and surrounded by the Abruzzo community interest sites system that between the Marsican sector and the Rocche plateau includes Monte Velino, Monte Sirente, Serra di Celano, the Aielli-Celano gorges, and Val d'Arano di Ovindoli. Other nearby natural areas of interest are Monte Faito and Pizzo di Ovindoli.
