Bele Vode (Kovač) - Sveti Križ above Bele Vode (on south ridge)

Access to starting point:
A) From highway Ljubljana - Maribor we go to the exit Šentrupert, and then we continue driving in the direction Mozirje and valley Logarska dolina. At the beginning of Mozirje from the roundabout we turn right in the direction of the settlement Bele Vode, and then we further follow the signs for Ljubijski graben. Higher, the asphalt ends and after a shorter quite steep part, the road flattens and it brings us to a crossroad near the homestead Kovač, which is situated on the other side of the stream and we continue about 50 more meters further to the spot, where the road towards Šmihelj nad Mozirjem branches off sharply to the left. At the starting point, there are several signposts and a suitable place for parking.
B) From Ljubno ob Savinji or Gornji Grad we drive to Mozirje, and there from a roundabout near the store Hofer we continue in the direction of Bele Vode, and then we further follow the signs for Ljubijski graben. Higher, the asphalt ends and after a shorter quite steep part, the road flattens and it brings us to a crossroad near the homestead Kovač, which is situated on the other side of the stream and we continue about 50 more meters further to the spot, where the road towards Šmihelj nad Mozirjem branches off sharply to the left. At the starting point, there are several signposts and a suitable place for parking.
C) We drive to Šoštanj, where from the roundabout by TEŠ we continue in the direction of Bele Vode. After the bridge over the river Paka and behind the railway track at the crossroad we continue straight in the direction of Bele Vode and also in the next crossroads, we follow the mentioned direction. At the crossroad after the homestead Slivnik (homestead is situated good 500 meters before the church in Bele Vode) we continue left in the direction of Visočki vrh (right the church in Bele Vode). Further, we drive on slopes of Sveti Križ, and the road leads us also past homesteads Završe, Bačovnik and Ojstršek, and then we already get to the homestead Kovač, where we join the road from Mozirje. Here we go right and then after approximately 50 meters we get to the spot, where the road towards Šmihelj nad Mozirjem branches off sharply to the left, where we park on an appropriate place by the road.

Path description:
From the starting point on the road we return a little back, and then at the smaller crossroad we continue left over a small bridge, which leads us through Ljubija. After the small bridge, the road turns right and leads us past the homestead Kovač, and behind it the road starts ascending. After a short ascent, partly also through the forest, we get to an ample meadow, through which we quickly reach homestead Ojstršek.
After the traffic sign and at the spot where there is the beginning of an asphalt, there a short road branches off to the left to residential houses, and at this spot, we continue slightly left, on a cart track which on the right side bypasses a business building. After a wooden fence we go right, we moderately ascend, and then through a grazing door we reach another residential house, in front of which we continue left on a cart track which ascends diagonally by the edge of the meadow. With a view on Gora Oljka and surrounding hills we quickly reach a wider cart track which continues from the nearby chapel and holiday cottage. Here we go left and we continue on a cart track which leads through the forest. On the cart track, we are at first gently, and then steeper and steeper ascending, and at the crossings we follow the one, which the most sticks to the ridge and it also seems the widest. Next follows a quite steep ascent, which mostly leads us on or a little below the south ridge of Sveti Križ. Higher, the cart track flattens a little, and on the left we notice a cliff, on which in spring time we notice a wide site of auricula. From here follows only a short diagonal ascent and at the chapel we reach the upper part of Sveti Križ, where there is a larger number of ecclesiastical buildings, and the very peak is a little to the left.
