Bele Vode (Sveti Andrej) - Sveti Križ above Bele Vode (lower path)

Access to starting point:
A) From highway Ljubljana - Maribor we go to the exit Šentrupert, and then we continue driving in the direction Mozirje and valley Logarska dolina. At the beginning of Mozirje from the roundabout we turn right in the direction of the settlement Bele Vode, and then we further follow the signs for Šoštanj, Lepa Njiva and Bele Vode. The road then soon brings us to Lepa Njiva, where we continue straight in the direction of Bele Vode. A little further, we come to a crossroad, where the road towards Sveti Florjan and Šoštanj branches off to the right. Here we continue straight on the road in the direction of Bele Vode, and there we drive all the way to the church of St. Andrej, where on a settled asphalt parking lot we park.
B) From Ljubno ob Savinji or Gornji Grad we drive to Mozirje, from there from the roundabout near the store Hofer we continue in the direction of Bele Vode. A little after the settlement Ljubija we get to a crossroad, where we continue slightly right in the direction of signs for Šoštanj, Lepa Njiva and Bele Vode. The road then soon brings us to Lepa Njiva, where we continue straight in the direction of Bele Vode. A little further, we come to a crossroad, where the road towards Sveti Florjan and Šoštanj branches off to the right. Here we continue straight on the road in the direction of Bele Vode, and there we drive all the way to the church of St. Andrej, where on a settled asphalt parking lot we park.
C) We drive to Šoštanj, where from the roundabout by TEŠ we continue in the direction of Bele Vode. After the bridge over the river Paka and behind the railway track at the crossroad we continue straight in the direction of Bele Vode and also in the next crossroads, we follow the mentioned direction. Further, we get to the church of St. Andrej in Bele Vode, where we park.

Path description:
From the church of St. Andrej, we on the road return few 100 meters back, and then at the crossroad a little after the left hairpin turn, we continue right in the direction of hamlet Visočki Vrh. From the crossroad, we are for some time descending, and then we reach the marked Šalek mountain trail, which we follow right in the direction towards Smrekovec. Views on Sveti Križ and part of Šaleška valley end here, because the path continues through the forest, at first quite steeply upwards. The path soon flattens a little and brings us on a cart track which runs steep above the nearby stream. Higher, the cart track which we follow above the riverbed of a torrent comes out of the forest on a meadow, on which we reach the marked crossing on the mountain pass Homec (817 meters).
From the crossing, where we reach the road we continue on the left road in the direction of Sveti Križ (straight Smrekovec, and right we can past Savinek return to the starting point). After few steps, from the right joins also the path from the valley of Kramarica or Ljubija (in the description starting point source of Ljubija), or in the mentioned direction continues also Šalek mountain trail. Further, we walk on an unmarked road which leads towards Sveti Križ. The path ahead leads us on a steep asphalt road or on a marked shortcut, which leads on a steep forest footpath. Further, the footpath few times crosses an asphalt road, and after approximately 30 minutes from the mountain pass Homec we reach the top of Sveti Križ, where there are a large number of ecclesiastical buildings and a transmitter.
