Bistra - Mali Trebelnik

Access to starting point:
From highway Ljubljana - Koper we go to the exit Vrhnika and we follow the road ahead in the direction of Bistra, where we park on a large parking lot behind the castle Bistra.

Path description:
From the parking lot, we at first walk to the castle, and there signs for forest learning path point us on stairs, which end on quite an overgrown path. We continue the ascent on the mentioned path, which after a short ascent, that runs through bushes brings us to the tower of the castle Bistra.
From the mentioned tower we continue on barely visible and very overgrown mountain path, which higher brings us to double-track railway. Ahead with a great caution we cross the mentioned track and we are then ascending on a little less overgrown path. After few minutes of additional ascent, we step on the forest road which we follow to the left. The road further steeply ascends and it quickly brings us to the next crossroad, where we continue left. Further, we are ascending on the forest road which brings us to the next crossroad, where from the left side joins the path from Borovnica.
We continue straight on a marked road in the direction of Zavrh. The road further is for quite some time moderately ascending, and then at the crossing of numerous cart tracks ends.
From the end of the road, we continue on a marked cart track which is still ascending through a dense forest. Higher, the cart track turns into a footpath, and out of the forest it brings us on a little more panoramic grassy slopes. Even a little further, we get to a paragliding take off point, from where a nice view opens up on Ljubljana marsh. From here we continue only few 10 meters and the path which ahead runs on grassy slopes quickly brings us on an indistinct peak of Mali Trebelnik.
