Brezje nad Kamnikom - Vovar (western way)

Access to starting point:
A) We drive to Kamnik, then continue driving in the direction of Kamniška Bistrica. At the stadium, we leave the main road, which turns left and crosses Kamniška Bistrica, and continue driving straight towards Mekinje. Further on, we drive past the Mekinje monastery, the Mekinje branch primary school, and then a little after the settlement Zduša we turn right in the direction of the settlement Brezje nad Kamnikom. When we reach the settlement, the described path begins, and we can park at a suitable spot by the road already before the settlement or above the settlement; there are no designated parking spaces in the settlement.
B) We drive to the Volovljek or Črnivec pass, then start descending towards Kamnik. Already in the valley, in the Godič settlement, we leave the main road, which turns right across Kamniška Bistrica, and continue slightly left. Further on, we continue driving through Godič, and just before the end of the settlement we turn left in the direction of Brezje, Vodice and Kršič. A little further, at the stop sign we go left, then ascend to the settlement Brezje nad Kamnikom, where the described path begins. We can park at a suitable spot by the road already before the settlement or above the settlement; there are no designated parking spaces in the settlement.

Path description:
From the beginning of the settlement, we diagonally ascend on the asphalt road, from which beautiful views open up to us, and in the middle of the settlement we continue sharply right in the direction of the cycling path LO40. The path ahead leads us past a few more houses, after the settlement the road becomes macadam and enters the forest. This is followed by a steeper ascent through the forest, at a few smaller intersections we continue on the wider road. Higher up, the road leads us past some sort of picnic area, where there are two signposts, a little further the signs for Vovar direct us right onto a cart track, from the cart track already at the very beginning we go a little further right onto a beaten unmarked footpath, which begins to ascend steeply on the northwestern slopes of Vovar. Further on, we gradually move to the western slopes, and the footpath is still quite steep. This is followed by crossing two cart tracks, at the crossing of the second a sign saying Vovar helps with orientation, and the gradually less steep footpath brings us to a small junction, where we go left. This is followed by some entirely easy walking, and from the left a path joins us that leads along the northeastern ridge of Vovar.
Here we go right and in a few steps of further walking we reach the logbook box and wish bell on Vovar.
