Cerovec pod Bočem - Dom na Boču

Access to starting point:
A) From the Ljubljana - Maribor highway, take the Dravlje exit, then follow the signs for Šentjur and then to Rogaška Slatina. When approaching Rogaška Slatina, do not drive towards the settlement, but continue in the direction of Rogatec. A little further, arrive at the settlement Cerovec pod Bočem, where we park behind the crossroads, where the road branches off to the left towards Sv. Florijan.
B) From the Maribor - Ljubljana highway, take the Slovenska Bistrica south exit, then follow the signs for Rogaška Slatina. When approaching Rogaška Slatina, do not drive towards the settlement, but continue in the direction of Rogatec. A little further, arrive at the settlement Cerovec pod Bočem, where we park behind the crossroads, where the road branches off to the left towards Sv. Florijan.

Path description:
From the parking lot, on the pedestrian crossing carefully cross the main road, then head to the road towards Sv. Florijan, soon along the path notice red mountain signposts for Grilova kapela and Boč. Initially walk on the sidewalk, after a few minutes the path turns east and splits shortly after. Before the chapel continue on the left road, along which the blazes continue. Continue between some houses of the settlement Cerovec pod Bočem, where follow the blazes, higher the asphalt path leads into the gorge of Tržiški potok stream. For some time continue through the mentioned gorge, then the road turns sharply left and gradually distances from the stream.
A little higher, signs for Grilova kapela and Boč direct left onto a side road (straight ranč Stojnšek), along which we continue ascending.
Higher go left again, then past Grilov vodnjak arrive out of the forest, where on the left, at the edge of the forest notice Grilova kapela.
Here go right in the direction of Boč and Ložno and return to the forest. Continue ascending the slopes of Grilov vrh (612 m), higher reach a larger clearing on the northern side of the mentioned peak.
Here from the southern part of the clearing a view opens up reaching to the Kamniško-Savinjskih Alps, we go right, where on the right side bypass an older wooden cottage. Follows only a short ascent on the cart track and reach the forest road, where the marked path splits.
Continue straight in the direction of Boč (right Rudijev dom and Ložno), where steeply ascend on the marked path. The path ahead first leads through a belt of bushes, from which some views open up, then the path enters the forest through which it still ascends quite steeply. Higher the path and slope level out, we follow the marked path to the marked junction, from which continue straight to the nearby road (right Donačka gora).
When reaching the road go left, left also at the nearby crossroads (right Makole). Follows some descent on the macadam road, when leaving the forest past a sign arrive at the crossroads, from which go straight (left leads the road into the valley towards Rogaška Slatina) and on the left side bypass the Gavez homestead, on the right the nearby hunting lodge Rogaška Slatina.
Behind the lodge descend to another road and follow it right. When the road begins to ascend a marked path branches right towards Formila and Makole, we continue on the asphalt road which begins to ascend. After a short ascent the road splits, we continue on the slightly left road which begins to descend (slightly right road leads to a private house). Follows descent on the macadam road, which somewhat lower brings us to a crossroads, where go right downhill towards Boč. Also continue descending, at the next crossroads where joining the path from Makole go left. Shortly after go right. From the last crossroads walk on the road only briefly, then go left onto the marked path, which ascends on the cart track to the place where once stood a forestry cottage, now a new hut is being built (condition May 2022).
Here step back onto the road, follow it left (across the road leads an unmarked path to Boč, or can join the road leading towards Boč). Continue walking on the road which crosses the slopes of Boč to the left, initially still gently ascending on it, later also slightly descending.
A few 10 steps before reaching the asphalt road a shady path to Boč branches right, we continue to the road, where continue right. When the road turns left, continue slightly right and with the path continue on the cart track which goes into the forest, at the junction go left downhill (right Boč over Balunjača).
Follows only a short descent and arrive at Dom na Boču.
