Access to starting point:
From the Ljubljana-Jesenice motorway, take the Lesce exit and follow the road towards Bled and further towards Bohinjska Bistrica. Continue driving towards Lake Bohinj (Ribčev laz), where you reach a junction, continuing right towards Stara Fužina. In Stara Fužina, at the junction by the chapel, turn sharply left onto the ascending road towards planina Blato, planina Vogar and dolina Voje. The road then takes you to the place where toll and parking fees are collected, from there follow it to the next junction, continuing left (right Voje). Then follow the road to the next junction (driving for quite some time), continuing straight (sharply right planina Blato). Then follow the road past planina Vogar and drive along it to the parking lot at the end of the road.
From the toll collection point to the starting point is less than 11 km of driving, the last half or slightly less is entirely a gravel road.
Path description:
At the parking lot, notice the signs for Planina Viševnik, directing right onto a wide and initially quite steep tractor track. After a few minutes of steep ascent, the track levels out, then continues without major elevation changes further through the forest. When the track turns right, continue straight on the marked hiking path, which initially ascends gently for a short time. When the path steepens, notice a cairn on the left and a path beside it to Pršivec (it later joins the usual path from Vogar), but continue straight on the steep mountain path. The path continues steeply through the forest for some time, then temporarily levels and leads to Brezno pri Gamsovi glavici (sinkhole explored to 817 m depth). Above the sinkhole, the path enters an indistinct, steeper upper valleyette, ascending to a small pass between Pršivec (1761 m) left and Gornji Viševnik (1722 m) right. Here it fully levels, then continues across Gornji Viševnik pastures. On the other side, it re-enters forest and descends in minutes to Planina Viševnik, center of which is Bregarjevo zavetišče.
From Planina Viševnik continue slightly left (sharply left Pršivec, left Črno jezero, slightly right Planina pri Jezeru past Krištofojce, right Planina pri Jezeru) towards Planina Ovčarije and Triglav Lakes. Path first traverses left up steeper slope, then levels gradually to plateau terrain. Continue southwest of Griva (1758 m) without major changes for some time. Further at signs, unmarked path straight to Planina Dedno polje; turn sharply left to Planina Ovčarije. From signs, slight descent, then right along contour/hollow. Other side, moderate ascent resumes, levels to Ovčarija shepherds' huts.
Continue between huts on marked path, moderately descending. Lower, past more huts, then in minutes to junction with wider path from Planina Dedno polje. Continue left to next junction.
From junction follow signs for path via Prodi (right via Štapce); after minutes to scenic point with view of Komna plateau and Bohinj-Tolmin mountains.
Path turns right from plateau to steep grassy slopes, traversing left moderately down. Lower enters dense forest, slope lessens; short steep ascent. Minutes on, marked junction above Lopučniška dolina, joining path from Koča pri Savici or past Črno jezero.
Straight to Koča pri Triglavskih jezerih (left Koča pri Savici); gently ascending to viewpoint over Dvojno jezero. Pass branch to Ruski grob, then along right/eastern side of Dvojno jezero, joined right by path from Planina Blato via Štapce.
Straight on; leaving lakeshore, few dozen easy steps to Koča pri Triglavskih jezerih.
After rest/views, towards Dom na Komni. Along right/western lake side, traversing up. Near unseen hunting hut, semi-circle right, gradual descent. Mid-descent to Planina Lopučnica, small flat where marked path left, unmarked right to Zgornje Komne plateau, Gladki and Debelem Lašt (lost higher in karst).
At Planina Lopučnica junction, right to Planina Za skalo (slight left Dom na Komni) on faint path crossing northwest slopes amid tall summer grass, crossing sparse forest belt, turning leftish. Steep up to karst sinkholes/scree. Levels, fades in rocks (follow marks). Views of mountains around Dolina Triglavskih jezer. Follow marks to Velika vrata pass, short gentle ascent.
Other side Velika vrata, leave little-used path right pathless. Initially easy through brush/scree via sparse cairns. Ascend ~north, no direct ways in karst; detour cracks. On ridge, orientation ends. Up scenic ridge to indistinct Glava za Bajto summit.
Slight descent, then up Čelo grassy slope to little-known summit.
