Access to starting point:
We leave the Štajerska highway at the Žalec exit and follow the signs for Žalec to the first crossroad, then leave the roundabout at the exit for Arja vas. At the end of Arja vas, we reach the main road Ljubljana - Celje, but we only cross it and drive into Petrovče. Through Petrovče, we follow the main road, and on the other side of the river Savinja, we quickly arrive in Kasaze, where we turn right onto a side road before the bus stop, driving up above the settlement, where we notice a small parking lot for about five cars in the forest by the roadside, where we park.
Path description:
From the starting point, we continue on the road ahead, and when the road turns left, signs for the Planinski dom na Bukovici direct us to the right into the forest. Through the forest, we moderately ascend, and we quickly return to the road, which we reach at a smaller crossroad. Blazes direct us straight onto a side road, along which we continue the ascent (also possible along the right road), and we ascend past houses. Higher up, the road flattens, and we merge with the road from the right, but we continue straight, still following the blazes. Further on, the road enters the forest and ascends diagonally to the left, and when the road flattens, we turn right onto a marked footpath with signs for Bukovica. The path ahead initially follows a cart track, but it soon turns into a mountain footpath that occasionally ascends steeply, though it mostly rises moderately. The forest path then leads us to the summit of Bukovica, and to the Planinski dom na Bukovici, there is only a short descent, lasting less than a minute.
