Ljubelj - Dom na Zelenici (lower on the border guard path)

From Gorenjska highway we turn on exit Ljubelj - Tržič. We follow the road ahead towards the border crossing Ljubelj where only few meters before the crossing we turn left towards Zelenica. We park on a large parking lot below the ski slope.

Path description:
Those who like walking on gravel under the burning sun will go on a marked path, and everyone else can go on soft, "upholstered" unmarked footpath through a thin forest on a slope of Ljubeljščica, which used to be made for the purpose of border guards. Our path we start at the bottom station of the chairlift on Zelenica, so that few ten meters we walk on a wide transport road below the cableway, and we soon on the right notice distinct footpath which leads us right slightly uphill in shelter of the forest. The footpath is all the time well-beaten and easy to follow, we are rising in a moderate ascent, all the time in pleasant shade of beech trees. We cross a larger number of smaller and one bigger torrent gully (at bigger we will notice a footpath on which we continue, straight opposite of us on other bank, riverbed of a torrent we only cross), but crossing isn't difficult or exposed. After little less than an hour of walking, the path joins to few years ago built transport road, right above the midway station of the chairlift, or above the mountain hut Vrtača, which we can see below us on our left side. We follow this road to hut on Zelenica.
