Access to starting point:
We leave Štajerska highway at exit Šentrupert, and then follow signs for Prebold and later Trbovlje. Further, we drive through the valley of stream Reka, and when the forest on the left side ends, we notice red signposts for Golava and Mrzlica by the road near bridge Koritnikov most. We park at a suitable place near the bridge.
Path description:
Right at the beginning, we cross bridge Koritnikov most, then ascend diagonally through the pasture towards the right, bypassing the nearby house quite a bit more to the left. On the upper part of the pasture, we reach a cart track but don’t follow it for long, as we follow the blazes that lead us onto a mountain path, taking care not to choose the path leading to the nearby house. The path continues through the forest, ascending diagonally to the right, leading us through an area abundant with wild garlic in springtime. Higher up, we reach another cart track and continue ascending diagonally to the right. Higher, we reach a less steep area northwest of Golava, where the path flattens and turns to the left. Just a bit further, we leave the forest and arrive at a marked crossroads at the farm Huš.
Here, the path to the right past the farm continues toward Mrzlica, but we proceed slightly to the left to the lower edge of the forest, where signs for path Zvonetova pot to Golava direct us into the forest.
We continue on the challenging path Zvonetova pot, which is initially neither technically demanding nor steep. When we leave the cart track a bit further, the path quickly becomes quite steep, ascending through the forest with the exception of a few short scenic sections. Higher up, we arrive below a cliff where there is an increased risk of falling rocks; the path avoids the steepest section by veering left onto very steep and slippery slopes, with fixed safety gear assisting on the steepest part. When the steel cable ends, the slope becomes only slightly less steep; the path remains very steep and hazardous for slipping even in dry conditions, requiring even greater caution if the path is wet or slippery. A little below the summit, the steepness eases, and we quickly reach bivouac Blažev bivak on Golava.
We can descend via the slightly less steep path Andrejeva pot, formerly called the sheep path (ovčja pot), or take an easier path along the northeastern ridge, though this involves a somewhat longer descent to the starting point.
