Access to starting point:
A) From Gorenja vas, Ljubljana or Kranj we drive to Škofja Loka, and then we continue driving towards Železniki. At the end of Škofja Loka we notice signs for Križna Gora, which point us to the right on a somewhat narrower road, on which we quickly arrive at the village Moškrin. At the beginning of the village, we continue slightly left (right center of the village Moškrin) on the road, on which a little further we arrive in the forest. We park in a suitable spot by the road.
B) We drive to Železniki, and then we continue driving towards Škofja Loka. At the beginning of Škofja Loka, a little further from the turn-off for the village Trnje, we turn left in the direction of Križna Gora and village Moškrin and then we drive on a somewhat narrower asphalt road, on which we quickly arrive at the beginning of the village Moškrin. At the beginning of the village, we continue slightly left (right center of the village Moškrin) on the road, on which a little further we arrive in the forest. We park in a suitable spot by the road.
Path description:
From the spot where we have parked we continue on the asphalt road which moderately ascends through the forest. Higher up, i.e. after approximately 15 minutes of walking, we arrive at a junction, where we continue left in the direction of the hamlet Cavrn (right village Križna Gora).
From the junction we walk for a short time through the forest, then we arrive out of the forest onto panoramic hayfields. When the road makes a left bend, on the right side we will spot a cross and beside it a cart track ascending over the panoramic grassy slope.
We continue on the mentioned cart track (left along the road hamlet Cavrn and further on the marked path Škofja Loka and Trnje), which quickly enters the forest. In the forest the cart track splits into two parts, we choose the left marked one, which a little higher begins to ascend transversely to the right. During the traverse a nice view opens up towards the church of the Holy Cross on Križna gora and the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. The path quickly returns to the forest, which ends right before a smaller saddle, where the path splits again.
If we continue left we will in a few steps reach the hunting cottage, if we continue right then in some 10 steps to the church of the Holy Cross, from which a beautiful view opens up.
