Parking at botanical garden - Balinovac (direct way)

Access to starting point:
From highway Zagreb - Split we go to the exit Otočac. We follow the road ahead towards the village Krasno and Sjeverni Velebit. Considerably winding road through a village Švica brings us in Krasno, where the road from Senj joins (possible also access from this side). In Krasno we continue towards signs nacionalni park Sjeverni Velebit and Dom Zavižan. The road which then becomes a macadam brings us to the entrance in the park, where an entrance fee has to be paid. Further, we drive on the road which brings us to a crossroad at the chapel, where we park on a parking lot.

Path description:
From the parking lot, we go towards botanical garden, which we reach after a short descent through a meadow. At the little house at botanical garden we continue on the left or on the right path, which on left or right side bypasses sinkhole below us. Both paths on the other side join and bring us to a crossing, where we go upwards in the direction of Balinovac. The path ahead ascends over a lane of a forest and after few minutes brings us on unvegetated upper slopes of the mountain. Here the path steeply ascends and on partly rocky slope brings us to the summit.
