Polzela - Gora Oljka (via Vimperk)

Access to starting point:
We leave the Styrian motorway at the Šempeter exit, then follow the signs for Polzela. When we arrive in Polzela, we turn right and park on the large parking lot by the cemetery.

Path description:
From the parking lot, we return to the main road, and then we continue through the settlement, where the path leads us past the parish church of St. Marjeta Antiohijska, Municipality of Polzela, store Tuš, and on the sidewalk by the main road, we walk to the right turn, where a road branches off to the left towards Castle Komenda.
From the castle, which was in the past characterized by the sovereign military Order of Malta and which was thoroughly renovated in 2011, we continue on a side road, by which we are accompanied by blazes. A little further, at the smaller crossroad we continue right from the nearby building, and then we return to the main road, which we follow to the left. On the road, we descend a little and then after the inn and pizzeria AS caffe we continue right on street Pot na Vimperk 3-16. We continue past individual houses, and then the asphalt road starts to ascend noticeably. At the farm Cizej-Sevšek we get to the settlement Podvin pri Polzeli, where at the crossroad we go right, a little further left on the road by which we notice a blaze. After the nearby house the road changes into a cart track which ascends diagonally, and from it we soon go right on a steeper footpath, on which in a few minutes we ascend to the church of St. Miklavž on Vimperk or Vinski vrh.
Behind the church, we step on a macadam road, on which we start descending diagonally, and when we reach a small saddle where the road turns right, we leave it and continue straight on a marked footpath. A little further follows a slight descent, where the forest temporarily ends, and by the path we notice Stations of the Cross, which then accompany us on the continuation of the path. Follows some slight ascent towards Vimperk (442 m), then on a cart track we reach an asphalt road which we follow to the right. On the asphalt road, we ascend to the "last" house, which we bypass on the left side, and then past an old millstone we pass on a diagonal path, which gradually turns to the left. Follows some more crossing, and then from the right joins a path which leads past the birth house of the writer, poet, journalist... Neža Maurer.
We continue straight, at first with nice views, then by an older house we reach a macadam road which passes into the forest, on it we continue to a marked crossroad, where we reach the road which leads towards Gora Oljka.
We continue on the road in the direction of Gora Oljka (to the left on the road we descend into the valley, the right road continues through the settlement Dobrič), on which we quickly get to the plague column and logbook box. Here a road branches off to the right towards the marked parking lot and Tourist Agency Nasmeh, and we go straight and continue walking on the asphalt road. Higher the road leads us with nice views, at the former inn Jug from the left joins the path from Podgora.
We continue on the road for another 10 meters or so, and then signs for Gora Oljka direct us to the left on a cart track which passes into the forest. We continue through the forest, at first on a cart track, then on a somewhat steeper marked path, which higher crosses the cart track several more times or occasionally continues on it. Higher, after the flat section, from the right joins another path, which branches off from the road higher up, and we continue left and in a few minutes of moderate ascent arrive at the mountain hut on Gora Oljka, after ascending the stairs also to the church of the Holy Cross.
