Šober (Log) - Sveti Urban above Maribor

Access to starting point:
A) From the road Maribor - Dravograd, from the roundabout in Bresternica we drive in the direction of the exit for Gaj nad Mariborom, and immediately after the intersection we go once again left towards Gaj. The path ahead leads us past the Mercator store and then also through part of the settlement Bresternica, and then we get to the chapel, where we go left towards Gaj nad Mariborom. Further, we drive along the Bresterniški potok, and from the intersection at Šoberjev dvor we go right on the road towards Sv. Urban. Further, we drive through Petkova graba, and we follow the road to the school bus stop Log, where there is also a marked intersection. We park at a suitable place by the intersection.
B) We drive to Spodnja Kungota, and then we follow the road towards Zgornja Kungota. In the settlement Kozjak nad Pesnico we turn left towards Gaj and Urban. Further, we start ascending, and higher we follow the signs for Gaj nad Mariborom, and later the road which leads towards Bresternica. When we get to the intersection, where we notice signs for Tojzlov vrh - Večernikova smer, we park at a suitable place by the intersection.

Path description:
From the starting point, we head onto the road towards Kungota and ascend lightly along it. After a few minutes, we arrive at a smaller intersection from which we continue straight, only a minute further to the second, slightly larger and marked one.
From the intersection, we continue straight on the marked road, alongside which there are signs for Pesnica and Kungota (right Sv. Urban - access by car) and first we descend slightly through the forest. When the forest ends, we bypass the Nabašec homestead on the right side and ascend to an intersection, in the middle of which there is a signpost.
We continue right on the road, where the asphalt ends quickly, then with nice views we ascend to the asphalt road, where we join the access road to Sv. Urban.
We continue left and enter the forest, where we cross the slopes. We quickly arrive at an intersection, where a road branches off to the right to the Hlade farm, and we continue straight and soon leave the forest. There follows some ascent past individual houses, higher up we already see the church of sv. Urban quite close. The path continues ahead with nice views of the surroundings, and from the left a marked path from Maribor also joins us (path past Brunček).
We continue straight, and leave the asphalt road at an unmarked junction, where a path branches off to the right leading towards the summit of Sv. Urban.
There follows a short traverse ascent across a panoramic slope, then we reach another road, which we follow to the right. We walk along the road for another minute and arrive at the church of sv. Urban, from which a nice view opens towards Maribor and the surrounding hills.
