Šport hotel - Mesnovec

Access to starting point:
From the highway Ljubljana - Jesenice we take the Lesce exit and follow the road in the direction of Bled, where at the traffic-light crossroads signs for Pokljuka direct us to the right. We follow this road, which in the lower part runs through some villages and later starts to ascend more steeply, to the Šport Hotel on Pokljuka. We park at an appropriate place by the road or near the hotel. Parking in front of the hotel is only for guests.

Path description:
From the Šport Hotel along the edge of the ski slope, or directly through the forest, we ascend to the nearby forest road, which is located about 10 minutes above the hotel. When we reach the road, we follow it to the left and ascend gently along it. The road along which we walk slowly turns towards the right the whole time and brings us a little higher to a smaller crossroads, where we continue along the right road. We continue past a green barrier and continue along the road, which occasionally even slightly descends. The road after a few minutes starts to ascend moderately again and brings us slightly higher to the next crossroads. This time too we continue along the right road, which narrows somewhat and brings us to a small saddle between the two peaks of Mesnovec. For the view we can ascend to the nearby left peak (1508 m) in 2 minutes; otherwise, we continue right and ascend to the higher main peak in 5 minutes on easier pathless terrain.
