Štore - Lahomniški sopot (via Žlajfa, Svetina and Olešče)

Access to starting point:
Štore accessible with the help of the train. On the road...we leave the highway in Celje and practically in the center of Celje we go towards Štore or Šentjur. We park the car near the railway station Štore, where there is enough parking spots available and there is also the beginning of the marked mountain path.

Path description:
The beginning of the path is at the railway station in Štore. We go through Voglajna, where a signpost immediately points us to the right and then it goes soon straight practically through the area of old Štore iron works. On the asphalt road, we continue in the lower part by Bojanski jarek to another crossing, which points us sharply to the left on asphalt grounding uphill to Žlajfa, where the road finally passes into a forest path, which is well marked. The ascent is nice, forest parts and meadows are taking turns. From the left joins the mountain path from Štore through Šentjanž or Resevna and after a shorter continuation through the forest we reach the mountain hut Almin dom na Svetini.
From the mountain hut Almin dom we descend downwards to the first crossing and we continue left in the direction of Svetina. After a shorter sightseeing of the settlement, we continue on the path of XIV division by the cemetery (a grave of great traveler Alma Karlin, immediately left by the entrance) on the road in the direction of Kanjuce. At the bigger homestead right on the road, also by the fence for horses we get to a wooden cross right by the road, where the path branches off to the right upwards on Veliki vrh.
We continue from the cross downwards and the path runs partly in the forest and through meadows. At one of the homesteads we reach the asphalt road and the main part of the settlement Kanjuce. We follow the asphalt path with great markings among homesteads on a diverse road all the way to part of the settlement Sela. A wooden sign points us to the right on a macadam road and on a built garage there is one of the last trail blazes with Roman numeral 14. From the garage further, the blazes vanish, and in a more distinct forest part we simply follow the road. This is somewhere the end of municipality Štore and beginning of municipality Laško. When we come out of the forest downwards we already see the settlement Olešče with the church of St. Peter a little on the hill. We follow the road through Petrovo Selo downwards by dispersed homesteads, more or less maintained chapels... There unfortunately aren't any blazes and at two crossings we continue to the right which is of course logically because of a better macadam road. We soon reach the church of St. Peter, which is a little on the hill.
After viewing the church and surroundings we continue by homesteads downwards, also by the sign on one of the homesteads in the memory of the battle of 14th division 13/02/1944 in Olešče. We continue mainly on the asphalt road in the direction of Tevče or Vrh nad Laškim into the valley of the stream Lahomnica. We soon reach the road which leads left further into the terrain of Kozjansko, and we continue right in the direction of Laško. After few hundred metrers we get to Tevče, on a plain, below the house number 21 there is a crossroad and we turn by a wooden fence, a wooden is also an important orientation point and along the calm riverbed of Lahomnica we continue on a macadam grounding by two homesteads. After the homesteads with the help of the bridge we cross Lahomnica and on a pleasant meadow path we soon reach Lahomniški sopot, today's destination.
