Zagorje ob Savi - Črni vrh (Čemšeniška planina)

Access to starting point:
From the road Ljubljana - Trbovlje, or the Štajerska highway exit Trojane, we drive to Zagorje ob Savi, where we park in one of the parking lots in town. The described path starts on road Cesta 9. avgusta at the crossroad with street Levstikova ulica.
At the starting point are located the Kulturni center Delavski dom Zagorje ob Savi, the Knjižnica Mileta Klopčiča Zagorje ob Savi, the Plesni klub KATTAN, the Okrepčevalnica Vrt, the Občina Zagorje ob Savi...

Path description:
By the beginning of the path, signs for Čemšeniška planina direct us onto street Levstikova ulica, along which we start at first gently, but when we reach the gorge, we ascend a little more steeply. We bypass the company Gip beton MTO Zagorje on the left side, then go slightly right onto the road, where the blazes continue. A little further, at the last house, the road ends, and we continue on a footpath that bypasses gardens on the left side. The path then flattens and soon joins a macadam road, which in a few steps leads us to an asphalt road that we follow to the left. The asphalt road also brings us to a crossroad in a few steps, and we continue on a footpath that bypasses the left road on the right side and then leads us by the sports airport. When we reach the next road on the other side of the meadow, we follow it to the right, ascending along it to a crossroad a few minutes away, located at the chapel, where there is also a bench for resting.
Here we go right, but just a few steps past the chapel, we turn left, then ascend through the meadow into the forest. Through the forest, we ascend diagonally to the left for a few minutes, then climb onto a ridge, where we quickly reach a smaller crossing by a religious symbol.
At the cross, an unmarked path branches off to the left, leading to Vinski vrh, but we continue straight, crossing the northeastern slopes of the mentioned summit. A little further, we leave the forest and, with nice views, later step onto an asphalt road on the left side of the cross, which we follow to the left, continuing to the settlement Zavine, where we follow the blazes at several crossroads. At the end of the dense part of the settlement, we go slightly left, followed by a moderate ascent along a panoramic road. Higher up, from a smaller crossroad at the edge of the forest, we go slightly right and quickly arrive at the hunting lodge Lovski dom na Klančišah.
We bypass the hunting lodge Lovski dom na Klančišah on the right side, then continue through the forest for a few minutes. When we leave the forest, we arrive at a marked crossroad in the settlement Ržiše.
We continue straight (left to Kisovec, right an unmarked path to castle Gamberk) and keep walking on the asphalt road, which gradually turns toward the north. The path leads us partly by meadows, partly through the forest, and partly through individual hamlets. The path also takes us near the farm Virant Pr Grivc, where homemade dairy products are sold, and we then begin to gently descend. We then leave the village Ržiše and arrive at the settlement Razbor pri Čemšeniku, where, at the bus stop and chapel, we join the path starting in the settlement Izlake.
We continue straight toward Čemšeniška planina (left to Izlake) and keep walking on a narrower macadam road, which, past a few houses, brings us to an asphalt road that we follow left upwards.
Further on, we pass the bottom station of the cargo cableway leading to the cottage Dom na Čemšeniški planini (there is also a parking lot by the cableway, and parking here shortens the path by about two hours). After the bottom station, the road turns slightly left, but before the start of the settlement Razbor pri Čemšeniku, we leave it and continue slightly right onto a cart track. From the cart track, we go once again right, so that to the "last" house we ascend on a panoramic grassy slope.
The last house we bypass on the right side, and then we start steeply ascending through the forest. A steep path brings us by the edge of panoramic cliffs, from which a beautiful view opens up on surroundings and nearby hills, and when higher the path flattens a little, we get to a marked crossing.
From the crossing, we go left (right - church of St. Primož and Felicijan 5-10 minutes) and then in few minutes of a diagonal ascent, we ascend to a macadam road which we follow to the left, and we walk there only until it is ascending, and then we go slightly right on a cart track. From the cart track, we soon go right as well, and then we join the path from Izlake via Čemšenik, where we go once again right.
We continue in the direction of Čemšeniška planina and we are diagonally quite steeply ascending. The diagonal ascent ends, when we reach the ridge of Čemšeniška planina, and at the mentioned spot we join also the path from Trojane or Prvine.
We go right and we continue the ascent on a gently sloping macadam road which a little higher we leave and we continue slightly right on a marked footpath which leads us with nice views on hills of Zasavsko and Posavsko hribovje with the highest Kum, and in the distance we can also see Snežnik. A little further, we cross also a lane of a forest, and the path then flattens and crosses a steep grassy slope, where when there is ice, it is quite dangerous for slipping, otherwise the path is wide and technically undemanding. A little before the mountain hut we cross also the route of a cargo cableway, and then with nice views, we walk to the mountain hut.
From the mountain hut, we continue towards the east or on the path in the direction of Krvavica. After the panoramic part, the path passes into the forest and continues on a gentle ridge of Čemšeniška planina, and after few minutes it splits. We choose the slightly right path in the direction of the cottage Zajčeva koča (slightly left - Vransko and Tabor) and we are still slightly to moderately ascending. At first, we go past the hunting observatory, and then in few minutes we ascend to a smaller saddle, where there is the inscription box.
A little before the inscription box we go left and in a minute of additional walking, we ascend on Črni vrh, which is the highest peak of Čemšeniška planina.
