Description of mountain:
Buchkogel, named also Graz Buchkogel, is situated on the western part of the town Gradec / Graz and is besides of Plabutsch one of the most popular destinations on the periphery of the town.
It is covered with a mixed forest. Beech tree is prevailing, after which the hill got its name.
Together with Plabutsch provides habitat for chamois.
Since the year 1879 on the top stands 11 meters high lookout tower of prince Rudolf (Kronprinz-Rudolf-Warte), which offers a view on town Graz.
