Description of mountain:
Dobrač, or in German Dobratsch, also known as Villacher Alpen, is a 2166-meter-high mountain situated in the far eastern part of the Gailtal Alps, west of Beljak / Villach. The mountain has two approximately equally high peaks, separated from each other by just over 30 meters. On the eastern peak stands the German church, considered one of the highest churches in the Alps and Europe, while on the western peak stands a cross, with the Slovenian church, dedicated to the Assumption of Mary, just below it.
Just a few dozen meters below both peaks is the mountain hut Ludvig - Walter Hütte, near which stands a 160-meter-high television tower, visible from far around.
From both peaks, a beautiful view opens up, extending far in all directions, with the most stunning vistas on the Julian Alps, Karawanks, Carnic Alps, Gailtal Alps, Gurktal Alps, and High and Low Tauern.
