The mountain hut is situated on the south Berchtesgaden Alps, more precisely on the mountain pasture Schönbergalm. From the mountain hut is a nice view towards High Tauern on the south and on mountains south and west from Höchkonig, which is the highest peak of Berchtesgaden Alps. Nice is also a view on the nearby ridge on which runs famous secured path Königsjodler.
