Koralpenhaus (Koralpe)

Description of hut:
The mountain hut Koralpenhaus is located at an altitude of 1966 meters in the heart of the Lavanttal Alps in neighboring Austria. It stands on an exceptionally scenic ridge of the Golica range (Ger. Koralpe), just under 200 vertical meters below its highest peak, Großer Speikkogel (2140 m).
The hut offers comfortable shelter and has more than 50 beds, making it an excellent base for multi-day traverses or ski touring. Beautiful views open up from the hut itself. To the northwest the view reaches the nearby Svinško planina (Saualpe), while to the southwest the entire length of the border ridge of the Karawanks is visible, and on clear days also the Kamnik-Savinja Alps.
Thanks to its proximity to the ski resort and well-maintained access paths, Koralpenhaus is a popular destination for both family outings and more demanding mountaineers in all seasons.
