Cross Strunjanski križ is situated above the bay Mesečev zaliv, and from there is a nice view towards the sea, in good visibility, the view reaches all the way to Triglav.
"Folk tradition says, that on 15th August, i.e. the day of the Assumption of Mary, many years ago, a miracle happened here. A terrible storm raged and ships at the sea would easily sink, if on the top of the cliff above the bay the Virgin Mary wouldn't appear. The sea calmed down immediately, the storm stopped, and the sailors didn't die. The locals put up a cross in gratitude, and they still narrate about footprints and tears, imprinted into the rock, where the Virgin Mary cried, to save the sailors. Long after this, the ships were honk in thanks to the Virgin Mary..
