Ravne pri Šoštanju, also known as Ravne, is a varied settlement in the Municipality of Šoštanj. At the entrance to the village stands the 16th-century Gutenbichl Mansion, surrounded by a beautiful Baroque park; its last owners were the Vošnjak family, tanners from Šoštanj. On a hill in the hamlet of Pristava are the ruins of the 14th-century Forhtenek Castle. The inhabitants of Ravne are mostly hill farmers, while the lower, denser part of the settlement houses newcomers from the neighboring village of Družmirje, flooded due to mining.
